Anybody have any comments on this one? My local has them in. First time he has gotten them in. He says they are very good for a short smoke. Never had them but I like most other AFs.

Cheers

not bad. A lot of folks really like them. I prefer the maddies.

If I'm going to spend $150 box for a short smoke, it is going to be a Monte #4 ISOM, a Partagas Short ISOM or a SLR Petit Corona ISOM. While the Short Story has a great flavour profile I much prefer the three listed.

Short Story is a good smoke. If you like the flavor profile try the other Hemmingway vitolas for a longer enjoyment. The SS is good for a quick lunch break smoke, or when you can't spend more than a half hour or so to finish one.

MY bank and my cigar shop are located a half hour away and are right next to each other...I love to deposit my paycheck every week, stroll next door, pick up a short story and enjoy the fruits of my labor. Perfect smoke for my drive home. If I feel like mixing it up a bit, I will grab the Padron Londres that I think they keep in stock just for me, or every once in a great while, an Acid Cold infusion Tea

Like Lukin said.....a great driving cigar, or even an end-of-the-Herf smoke. I probably would stick to 5-packs of these, and go with a box of the 858 Maddie.....which are cheaper and a lot better, IMO.

grond --- if you are paying $150 for a box, you are not doing your homework ...

... easily found on the net for around $100, and sometimes less.

Well,

I picked up five to try and had one last night. I actually smoked a Torano Dominican Selection maddie first while doing some yard work after dinner. I then grabbed a class of cab and the SS, sat out on the porch and watched the sunset. Interesting smoke. Super construction and perfect burn. Held it's ash very well. Started out VERY peppery! But after about 1/2 inch started to mello. While I am not very good at identifying "complex" flavors, this seemed to have lots of cedar and some hints of nuts. Had a very short finish. It was definately "nubbable". I paid about $4 each. Not sure if that is a good price as I haven't checked around. I will say that my all time favorite "short" smoke is the PAM Principe. However due to cost; usually $8 ea, I don't get to enjoy those as often as I would like.

The Short Story, and the Hemingway line, are some of my favorite cigars.

I just won some and they came in today. They look so darn small (4x48????). Hope they're as good as their reputation.

... good things come in small packages, they say ... 😉

A truly exceptional 'short smoke' for when you just don't have the time for something more substantial .. it serves its purpose quite well.

They are a great little smoke. I'm going to have to shoot Slim an email for those prices.
