What is "ring?" size? I know it is circumference but it's purpose for being listed as part of a description is simply for consumer knowledge, or does the 'ring' indicate loosely / tightly wrapped, etc?

Thx All,

"The ring gauge refers to the width or thickness of the cigar. The measurement represents the diameter as a number in 64ths of an inch. Keep in mind that as cigars are shipped or dried the ring gauge may change slightly"

"Ring gauge refers to the diameter of the cigar in the center (how fat it is). Ring gauge, the cigar's diameter. A ring gauge of 40 indicates a cigar that is 40/64 inches wide. A ring gauge of 55 indicates 55/64 inches. Ring gauge also affects how much smoke you suck of the end; a larger ring gauge (And thus, wider surface area) means that you're gonna get a deep sense of the flavor with every puff."

How loosely rolled a cigar is is NOT part of the ring gauge description, and falls more into construction issues.

Hope this helps

Thanks so much. I was thinking that the ring size determined the tightness of the wrap effecting the draw. Coop
