The F-16 Fighting Falcon is about to become obsolete. It's being replaced by the JSF and the F-22 Raptor. It's still a bass ass fighter and was one of our best air to air fighters. BTW,nice pic Hog. X

Not to disagree, but with only a handfull of Raptors and JSF nowhere near being ready the Fighting Falcon will be around for at least another 5-10 years.

Considering that the F-16 is nearly 30 years old it's about time to retire her. Granted improvements have been made over the years but the the basic airframe was designed over 30 years ago. I had the pleasure of working on some of the first prototypes while stationed at Edwards AFB from 80-82. The jets were 1975 models.

I agree though that they'll be around at least 5 years and probably closer to 10. I'm looking forward to the first F-22's arriving at Langley AFB sometime in the near future. The new hangars have been built and other new facilities are under construction.
