Veronica Lake was stunning to look at back in her prime in the 1940s. After her film career, however, her life took many hard turns, by the early 1960s she was poor and doing waitressing and other odd jobs all the while hoping for a comeback that never happened. A very sad end for one of the true glamour queens of Hollywood's golden era.

Her peek-a-boo hairstyle caused industrial accidents during the war effort. Working woman copied her doo and it created such problems that the government asked hollywood to change her hairstyle.
She lost her schtick and her career followed.
The only thing she didn't lose was her thirst for alcohol. It's a damn shame, since she was indeed a babe.

Veronica Lake was star of many great film noir movies.

She was one of the key ingredients to LA Confidential!

Indeed she was Charlie. There were any number of babes churned out by the old Hollywood studio system. Class and glamor is what they sold. True or not in real life is another story. But what red blooded American male did not drool over Lake, Paulette Goddard, Rita Hayworth, Rhonda Fleming, Susan Hayward and the list goes on. I always liked the bad and beautiful type and redheads.
