Ok here we go. I'll make this short and sweet so that i dont look like to much of an idiot.

Cigar
#1

This cigar had a great draw and alot of smoke. Two thing i love. Nice white ash but was alittle loose. It had strong hints of chocolate at first and then mellowed into an almond flavor. I liked this cigar alot and look forward to getting more of these. Gave it a 4 out of 5. My guess would be a Perdomo made cigar but not sure wich one.

Cigar
#2
This cigar was rough looking. Just a bad looking cigar in my opinion. Inconsistant ash and smoke. Draw was ok.
This cigar had a strange taste to it..kinda like an old taste i guess. I think this was a "sandwich cigar".
I know this isnt a Flor del Todo. But it's the only guess i could come up with. I give it a 2.5 out of 5

Cigar
#3
This cigar was the second best of the bunch. Nutty and toasty with some spice now and then. Alot of flavor and alot of nice smoke. Im going to guess a Fuente Flora Fina 858. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Cigar
#4
This was the best cigar of the 5. I smoked this one first. I was outside on the porch at 9pm with just a breeze in the air and the temp was 78*. Maybe the perfect conditions made this cigar seem that much better. Either way i fell in love with this one. Cool spice is how i would describe this one. It was the same all of the way down to the nubb. And i did nub this one. I will guess it to be a Punch Grand Cru.......i have only had one and this cigar reminded me of it. 5/5

Cigar
#5

The draw on this cigar was to easy and didnt produce much smoke(wow, i really look for this in a cigar huh?)
It was nutty and had hints of something that i couldnt put my finger on. Maybe something roasted..hmmm...nope i cant think of what it would be. My guess would be an Indian Tabac cameroon...wait that wasnt a cameroon was it. Oh well. I'll give it a 3.5/out of 5

So there it is. Insert jokes here.

No jokes allowed, this is much harder than it seems.
I think when my results get posted, we`ll be idiot brothers of the leaf.

The results:

Cigar #1
Oliva "O" Bold Ovation. I agree that they are a bit loose, but they still burn slow and cool, and their flavor does make up for that. MMMMMMM!

Cigar #2
A robusto blended and rolled by me. Ugly as sin, but filled with my favorite, Nicaraguan viso and Dominican ligero, wrapped in a Honduran leaf. And to think, these are my best yet. The Master blenders of the cigar world are really masters of their craft and it`s not as easy as you might think.

Cigar #3
AVO Domaine #10. Exactly as you described it. A wonderful smoke anytime of the day with plenty of character. I would say a diamond in the rough, but they cost as mush as a diamond, LOL! One of my Favs.

Cigar #4
Your`re gonna kill me for this one cause it really was impossible to guess. A La Flor Dominicana factory made robusto overrun wrapped in Cameroon. To the best of my knowledge, it is a 2000 series with a Cameroon wrapper. I went Cameroon crazy awhile back and found them cheap, loved them and been smoking them like crazy ever since. Just like you said, cool spice and even some rich earth tones.

Cigar #5
Hoyo de Monterrey Sultan Maduro. Funny you should mention the light smoke production, cause that is what I found too, at least in the early going. Eventually the others I`ve had started booming after they warmed up. I really enjoy the natural sweetness and you guessed the nutty character right on the nose.

Now come on Bassdude, you`re prolonging the agony.
I gotta know what I was smokin`...

That was great. I think everyone should try this atleast once. AVO....that was my first one. I cant get my taste buds to hang on long enough for those churchill's and such. I am a robusto, and sometimes i'll mix in a torp, type of smoker. That and i dont always have that much time to sit down and smoke something that takes that long. But i was really trying to get out of them as much as i could. Sorry about the review on your handrolled 'gar. After second thoughts it kinda reminded me of a One-eye Pete cigar that is sold here, just alittle more smooth looking.LOL

Sorry for the delay. The arrived in Ok shape a couple of little cracks but all are smokeable. Since I have traded with Jeff before I knew he did not package these.

These are some pretty good sized smokes and I have not had enough time to settle down with them all. They actually scare me. The kids are really taking most of my free time. Especially since I took over my son's Cubscout den in addition to being the committee chair.

I have smoked #1 and 2 and will finish the other 3 this weekend. I was going to post my thoughts should I e-mail them to Jeff instead?

Here are my reviews. I`ll let Jeff post my guesses when bass is ready.

#1- Toro size with very good construction. Lightly colored wrapper had a nice smooth sheen to it though not a Connecticut shade. Smelled that of light spice with a bit of sugar? Clipped the end and pre-light draw was smooth, but with no taste. Upon lighting, a blast of billowing spice filled the air followed by natural sweetness. This flavor held solid, even intensifying midway. Not spicy mind you, but subtle spiciness like a dash of pepper. Very good cigar. 4 out of 5.

#2- A large ring gauge maybe 54+ with a perfecto foot. Also with good construction. Wrapper was a dark brown matte color. Pre-light had nice smooth flavor. Burned a bit uneven at first as is the case with most shaped cigars, then evened out. Experienced some earth tone flavors with a leathery hint. Good draw and pleasant taste give this is 3..5 out of 5.

#3- A box pressed robusto. Great construction with a nice Cameroon wrapper (a favorite of mine). Pre light aroma was a pleasing reminder that I “think” this is one of my favorite cigars from CAO. Medium bodied flavor of spicy, but smooth pepper filled the air with the first draw. A slow burning bright ash held firm nearly ¾ of the way down. Overall nutty flavor did intensify near the finish. Great cigar. 4.5 out of 5.

#4- This big fat robusto has a huge ring gauge about 58 or 60. A super dark wrapper, although not maduro, is rolled tight, smooth and nearly flawless. This cigar has a deep, hearty, earthy pre light aroma that is up front in your face. After the foot was toasted, 1st draw slammed a deep robust flavor on my tongue. Though I really can`t explain it, it was just complex. No real flavors stood out although there were plenty, just kind of like a mystery mix. Halfway point greeted me with a break, then, before I knew it, again I was hit hard. Had the power of a VSG, but the flavor was not as good as VSG. I would try this one again in the future and be prepared for an adventure with different flavors. 3 out of 5.

#5- Box-pressed “black as night” maduro robusto. This cigar is smelly! The oily, deep black maduro wrapper smelled like a red hot roasted pepper. I cut the head off and took a pre light draw. My lips were instantly drenched with spicy oils filled with pepper. Wow, didn`t expect that, but did like it. Upon lighting the chili pepper, clouds of creamy blue smoke went to combat with the spice. I found myself in the middle of a battle that could go either way. After a quick uneven burn correction, I settled in a found the sweetness of the creamy smoke to not overcome the chili pepper, but to compliment it in producing a well balanced full bodied, full flavored smoke. What a mix of flavors, some roasted coffee beans, light chocolate, nutty hints and a heavy leathery finish. I really enjoyed this cigar. 4.5 out of 5.
