I keep bidding on certain premuim cigars and people bid them up over retail, singles price. I want them, but not that bad. Anyone interested on going thirds on a box of 15, e-mail me at [email protected]

I'll call it the "Never Pay Above Retail Again!" plan. If I wanted to do that, I'd go buy a premium cigar to sample at retail from my very good man Nick over at 'California Tobacco Center,' and tip him a few bucks in the bargain to show my gratitude.

Apparently some of these bidders haven't thought to investigate the prices at cigar international, or read the magazines they receive. I agree it's frustrating but it's funny to watch. It's really dependant on the CA ratings. One week you can get a five pack of RP 1990 or 1992 for $7.00-9.00, then they get rated and their through the roof.

I hear that. Patience is definitely a virtue. Like they say, the "Ebay" of cigars, and it is; it's a tragi/comedy of marketplace chaos. I do get some kick-ass deals on Cbid, but sometimes I get impatient and just order out of the CI catalogue, or a competing source.
