finaly got photoshop. better late than never, eh hog?
this piece is a tank off a fxr. the multiple layering goes like this.
the base is silver marble, the flames are done in sunset pearl, striped in white. there are small ghost flames airbrushed in the large flames, but the camera didn't pick em up. the whole thing is covered in tangerine candy, with multiple layers of diamond ice pearl sandwitched in.
the end result is smooth as glass, with no edges felt
this is one example, i'll have more for your veiwing pleasure very soon.

yes, this 1 example of my paint work.
most of my pics are actual photos, hundreds of em, and i dont have a scanner, so i can't post most of my work.

i have many digital, and will post more eye candy soon.
did a road king that involved a 5" stretch of the entire bike. will post that next.

How do you form the flame patterns on the tank?

to answer your question, Gan, i use a thin(1/8") vinyl tape and apply it to the base paint. using 1 hand to hold the tepe roll, i use the other finger to push down on the tape, while pulling the roll away at different angles, i completely freehand the outline of the artwork. you may be able to catch some of my tech articles in autoart magazine. it would be easier to understand the concept this way.

Lofty, and others, don't think you absolutely can't afford work like this. its probly not as expensive as you think.

i have sheet metal exchange programs, and payment plan options. about 1/2 of my work is shipped across the country anyway, so shipping is not a problem.
and, a few extra gars can go a long way with price negotiations.
