This is only my 2nd review here, or at all for that matter, so please be gentle.

Pre-light draw is easy with the perfect amount of resistance. Flavors are of sweet spice. The 1st inch opened up with a shot of charcoal, pepper in the back of the throat, and raisins. Beyond the 1st inch up to the half way point I got mild spice that lingers on the tongue with some roasted coffee bean. At the 1/2 way point the stick has smoothed out but the mild spice is still there lingering nicely on the tongue, just the right amount of tingle. Picking up hints of toasted wood for a few puffs then some mild cedar before some sweetness that comes back at the front of the lingering spice. Just before the last 1/3 I'm getting peanuts. The last 1/3 is giving me more peanuts with a "roasted" flavor in there and cedar coming in in the last 2 inches.

The burn overall was very sharp needing no touch ups. The ash was firm, light gray with flecks of dark gray. It did turn a little flaky in the last 2 inches but held firm.

Pepper... raisins... coffee bean... spices... peanuts... you sure you aren't reading Joy of Cooking instead of the forums?

j/k - Nice description of the Tempus Maduro, nice enough to make me want to try one! Looking forward to your next review...

Thanks for the review Uriah, and being a fan of most things AB puts out and I'm a big time maddie fan, I'm gonna make a concerted effort to find a couple and take them for a spin!!!!

Haven't tried very many AB's but with a review like this who could not try a couple? I am. Was planning a trip to local tomorrow anyway.

There were 25 boxes brought in for the initial release last Friday the 15th. They were supposed to carry a Maduro foot band, but they weren't ready for the release. The next shipment will be out in 3 weeks and will carry the identifying band. This information is coming from the Fuego/AB rep here on the island.

Very descriptive. Certainly much more so than I could ever offer.
But you failed to give your overall impression.

For instance: If I were to write a review of a Tamboril selection from about 10 years ago, I could easily write the following:
" A distinct presence of peanuts"
Now, this could be read as "wow. this cigar is so complex that it has a peanut flavor attribute"
But what I would have meant was: "this is like smoking the peanuts that I'd pick out of my crap after eating a rancid box of cracker jacks"

So, back to the Tempus.
How do you rate it in terms of flavor, strength and body.

Thanks!

Shooting for the stars......

Flavor would be complex. Several distinct flavor changes.
Strength is medium throughout.
Body is medium, no thick billowing white smoke like the regular Tempus.

Hmmm...I find the Tempus to be somewhat overrated, but if the maduro is as good as you say, I may have to try one.
