What he is SAYING is true...how he proposes to change it is what I disagree with.

No, what he's saying is complete BS. "Corporate America" and the "wealthy" aren't at "war" with the "common folk." That line is a typical tactic used by socialists worldwide to usurp free enterprise, and bring about a state-controlled monopolies.

If they are ar "war" with the the middle-class (another socialist term that never existed in this country until Woodrow Wilson) it is because they're lining up to be the first people whose power and fortunes are guaranteed by the federal government. Because most cunning socialists thses days know that outright communism is a failure, and they think that they can make their failed philosophy work by "tweaking" it a little so that it sucks far less. So they get wealthy people on board, secure their fortunes through legislation and regulation, and then the real stopming of average individuals begins in earnest.

Whether what BS advocates or Marx advocated is tried, it will all come crasing down in the same manner. The only difference is the lenth at which their structured economies die an agonizing death.

"At war" is kind of an inflammatory/over dramatic term. But the core of his statements are true. But like I said, I disagree with his ideas about how to change things. This mentality of "more government, more regulation" has taken over the minds of LOTS of people, especially politicians, and that's scary.

Could someone tell me where Socialism and Communism has actually worked ????

Pretty much any economic system will work -- for a while. The problem with extreme leftist economic systems is that they are unsustainable. When you pay people not to work and tax the s-hit out of them when they do, you get unemployment, huge deficits, outsourced manufacturing, etc.

The problem with our economic system is that the government tries to "play both sides" of the economics game. We claim to be capitalist, but with our entitlement programs, high taxes, and high regulation, we've ended up with...unemployment, huge deficits, and outsourced manufacturing.

Well, then here is my two cents.

A democracy ... can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits.

I understand we're a republic, not a democracy, but the principle here is pretty sound under our current administration.

country was in trouble. but i thought the country could
survive. i was wrong beyond my worst nightmare.

as i watch his book tour interviews i see what i saw from day one,

nothing of value to say and well represented on these boards.

i'm not bitter about watching my country return to the
