Maybe not for ALL offenders, but on the hole yes absolutely! Currently there is virtually no deterrent as lawyers are given the leeway to plead down their pirps. cases. It's all become a Circus, as the attorneys get to decide who will and who won't sit on a jury, based on how strongly they feel they can manipulate their thinking or beliefs. The whole process has become more about the attorneys win / loss record than serving justice. And then we move on to our rather posh country club like prisons across our country, where they enjoy better health care than most law abiding citizens, @ some they can hold a job and earn money, with all our political correctness in the mindset of the masses we're more concerned with rehabilitating the criminal than making them PAY for the crime!!!! It has been proven that some violent crimes ie: rape / child molestation, when it comes to rehabilitation it just doesn't work. Yet we continue to violate the rights yet again of the victim who've already been through that private hell once. We must ask ourselves why do the largest majority of us never even consider perpetrating a violent crime while for others it's an every day occurrence.........and if the answer comes back as it most often does (lack of good parenting skills ie: teaching your kids right from wrong, humility, morals etc.) then we must also make the parent responsible, and they too pay a price!!!!!!

Public whippings and hangings would send the right message.
