That should be the automatic "man of the year" EVERY year until the war is over.

In defense of Rick and AVB, I don't think I have ever read an anti-troop remark from either of those guys. I am suprised you would even approach such a thing. Our troops are a complete separate entity from W and I'm sure not all of them share his views. They are soldiers and follow orders, right or wrong. They should have our upmost support as a country, because everyday they are fighting a war that alot probably agree we have no business being in. Please don't carry this type of BS over here with these young men as a way to say who's better libs, cons, dems, reps. Say what you want about the government, but always, always support our troops.

Ok now that I've had my rant. I haven't been around in a while, glad to see you guys still here.

So based on your statement you think that it is ok to compare Bush to hitler and stalin?

The same principals you apply to the soldiers do not apply to the commander in chief?

EI,
I think they have every right to compare the man in any lite they wish. Just as it appears some have decided to put the man on a pedestal, so be it. But never should ill words be spoken of our troops. We exist because men and women like that allow us to sleep safely in our beds.

Do I feel that the president should be put in the same air as those troops, absolutly not. As a veteran I know that a soldiers' interest is always perserving the American way of life. Even when he is not sure if what he is ordered to do is the right thing. With every fiber he must believe it is to protect or better his home.

See the president is a job, just as any manager in any company. I give respect freely to the position, but not the man. If he is a just man he can bring peace and prosperity to his people. If he is not a man of honor, then all nations including his own will despise him. He can sit safely in his office and on a whim have a bunch of yes men agree with him and send hundreds off to a far away land to die.

So tell me this, which of these two does the man that holds the position as President of US, most closely resemble to you?

Cribbie, do a Google on 'Semper Fi cigars.' They're put out by the makers of Camacho and Baccarat.

Oh, and well put Gypsy. It's easy to act tough when it's someone else out there taking the sh*t for you.

I am not comparing the president to the troops

I did ask do you think the president should be compared to hitler or stalin

I aggree that they can say what ever they wish
I just dont aggree with what they said.
Just as I didn't aggree with kerry when he called the troops in Vietnam war criminals.
He and his fellow anti war activist had a right to call the troops what ever they wanted to. A right of free speech.
But I am also free to disagree then and now.
They brought up the comparison of men/person of the year and I just wondered if they would offer the same comparrison to our troops overseas
