There have been rumors for decades about Raul's..."feminine side"...this is the beginning of the end for the Castro's.

They're through and the nation is through with them. They were complicit to sit on their hands and wait for Fidel to kick the bucket. They all but laughed at Raul's vision for the future. Now, both of the guys did the only thing they could think of and promote a fellow guerilla.

That's not going to work either. The respect factor will wash off like a stripper's cheap perfume.

If only we had effectual leadership in Washington DC to actually end the embargo and crush the Cuban leadership to their knees and drag them out back of the woodshed for the final beatdown...but we don't.

We have something much worse than what Cuba has. We're stuck in the same position as the Cuban people. The wait game continues as we all wonder just how bad bad can get.

The best thing we can do for Cuba is end the embargo and flood the country with the cash of the American consumer. Once that happens, the Cuban people will take care of the Castros and their ilk.

The one area Cuba could make large gains is tourism. Even though the world does a limited amount of business with Cuba, tourists heading to the Caribbean don't think of the Cuban s%$thole as a popular destination compared to all the other choices.

As a comparison, Florida gets about 50 times as many tourists as Cuba and tourism in Cuba is one of its main sources of revenue.

Imagine if a revitalized Cuba could steal away just a little bit of tourism to Florida and Cancun.
