The Courts upholding the rights of groups like the Westboro lunatics, where is the same respect for Terry Jones and his group wanting to peacefully protest outside of a Dearborn, MI. mosque?

The cops were in the wrong. Not shocking in the least that police over-react. Happens a lot in situations like this. War protesters were arrested illegally as well in places like Seatle and NYC.

The people who were arrested were aquitted. And the lawsuit is going forward. So far justice is blind on this issue. The police reaction was not. I'm sure the muslims who were there were never treated badly by a cop, or looked at by the police more closely at any time after 9/11 either, right?

What do you call denying them the right to protest outside the Mosque? You just go shopping for controversy don't you? It is NOT the courts right to suggest they protest elsewhere.......this is Political Correctness plain and simple...

Reversing the situation might be something to do here to see how one would react. A group of muslims who in the past have burned crosses or bibles requests a permit to protest outside a large baptist church. I would think that permit would be denied as well. Permits have also been denied to G-20 protesters, anti-war protesters, etc mostly because of the locations requested. The cities or towns are trying to balance public safety vs speech. I'm not saying that I agree with them in all cases either. But those denied have the courts to decide via lawsuits that would set precident for future cases.

a day or so ago, some new congress leading a town hall meeting.an arrested for asking a question out loud.

she spoke for about ten seconds.

some cop grabbed her and handcuffed her and put her in jail.

this is no longer the country i grew up in.

when did it become a fascist state.

in the 60's?

kent state?

i don't know and i lived through it.

i think if i was more adventures, i might have moved to norway, or one of the scandinavian countries.

i may still live long enough to see my country collapse.
