Gosh, robertknyc, you wouldn't take being labeled "pathetic" as a personal affront? If I told you that you were pathetic, I'm sure you'd be thrilled.

Cain has an agenda and a platform.

This far into the Muslim Kenyan's Presidency, I still have no idea what his agenda or platform is other than allow illegals to completely bankrupt states that are near bankrup and to tax people who invested time effort and money in their eductation and work hard to live comfortably to allow those who do not go to school or work to have better quality of life than those who do.

cbc - that was a fair and honest repsonse and I respect your opinion.

Which is why I think we need to look for a candidate outside of the political system. Obama was never a CEO, Mayor, Govenor, was barely a Senator and yet was handpicked to run for President. As much as we thought we were going to get something different - we got a whole lot more of the same.

Cain strikes me as something different and currently has my interest.

Pathetic isn't a true insult such as common name calling. You aroused pity in me and a certain sort of sadness. I rarely name call here - it's childish and Fuzzish......

I agree, Mikey, but I think the system itself is part of the problem. It seems that even lifetime "outsiders", by the time they actually get into office, have already had to suck so many d***s and pimp themselves out to so many money people and influence peddlers that their best intentions are buried.

No one in the private sector?

Here's a 1 minute google search.

Govt workers have to pay for their health benefits unless they are retired military and a few others. Most all federal retired workers have to pay for their own health insurance (including congress).

Define unrealistic pensions?

Okay, I understand now. My turn: You are hideous.

hid·e·ous   /ˈhɪdiəs/ Show Spelled[hid-ee-uhs] Show IPA
–adjective
1. horrible or frightful to the senses; repulsive; very ugly: a hideous monster.
2. shocking or revolting to the moral sense: a hideous crime.
3. distressing; appalling: the hideous expense of moving one's home to another city.

Your post was distressing to me, therefore it's okay for me to call you a hideous person.

What a fun game!!!!

Mikey he made it blatenly obvious to all that were paying attention.

At the end of EVERY campaign speech he closed with this line...

"we will change America ... and we will change the WORLD"

What do you think a man with no Executive experience was going to do? Something right? No, then there's the telling ending to one of his last speeches..."fundamentally change America"?????

Sorry, but America IS the greatest nation on the planet. I didn't say perfect.

No, this is the kind of clown the Left wanted in the Ringleader seat with Pelosi and Reid as the guardians at the gate. One down. One narrowly got their seat and is clinging to the gavel. The Agenda tide has swung. Let's make the Kenyan King a one termer. America can't take a 2nd term of Owebama. They're already talking about America defaulting in 2016. With this clown in the same job he'd push the pedal to the metal to make sure we jump track.

He wants the illegals as a voting bloc. That's why he and his party are pandering to them. Every single time they pander to a group they use them unitl there's nothing left. The unions were just kicked to the curb. I bet they show up again and vote the same way. Programming being what it is and all. Change? That's what they wanted. He NEVER said it was positive!

Gringo, you know that all government workers are leeches sucking at the tit of the hardworking taxpayer, so stop with your facts and other nonsense. You are obviously a radical socialist.

On a related note - why do you hate America?

The thing is, you have some fantasy that govt workers just stop working and get some super pension that pays all the bills. Do you have somebody you know directly, and have talked about this with? I doubt it, because you don't know what you are talking about.

The fixed pension based on high 3 salary and number of years of service is a great benefit. Most govt workers couldn't retire on that alone. If they don't contribute to the TSP they will not have enough income at retirement.

The private sector companies offer higher matching, and many do still offer some defined benefit pensions, most do not because many people think they can get a better return "on their own". They also offer profit sharing, bonuses, company stock, etc...

But I am just a govt leach, what do I know.

Meh...most are dumping 401K's...retirement of any sort is done on your own. If they offer profit sharing its a shell of it's former gracious self with maybe 2%. Bonuses and company stock have fallen like the old COLA. They're not there anymore. If you have a job they tell you "Be lucky you have it!"

The small company (10 employees) that my wife runs the accounting for usually does 15% annually in profit sharing. They did 20% last year.

I really didn't mean to represent that it's all roses out there.

I never hated on Microsoft employees during the 90's boom when my military pay was crap, and those employees were raking in the cash in stock options.

My point is beat it or join it. Stop whining about it. Find the right place, be happy.

Edit: Oh yea, and be factual about govt pensions, don't make stuff up. It's already great, don't make it sound perfect. Was what I was really getting at.

I dont think that when pensions were created the average American life span was as long. My father was a NYC transit cop. He got on the force at 21. He did 25 years to maximize his pension. He retired at 46 years old. He is about to celebrate his 72nd birthday this summer. At this point he has collected his pension for as long as he worked. I hope to have him around for many more years. I just don't think that pension systems were designed for that type of longevity.

PS - When he retired he did 20 years (sort of - early attrition) at a giant insurance company as a collision claims adjuster. He gets a pension from there as well.

Plus SocSec.

But then the flip side is he worked very hard all his life and paid into these systems so isn't he due?
