I am not surprised about new rumblings in Jordan, given all that has and is going on in the Arab/Muslim world. On the other hand, Jordan has been a relatively stable country...

Libya is a foregone conclusion. Syria keeps getting worse and worse- and very well may get be toppled in the bloodiest battle imaginable. But, Jordan?

(Please try to keep "beating the dead horse" of Israeli/Palestinian statehood out of this thread- because I am sick of it!)

Now who stands to gain the most from all of this instability?

Is this a land grab?

Look at what's replacing these "governments" and it's not better...its WORSE!

I have no opinion on the region. A war between Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Araba would be great for the US military industrial complex because they all use US weaponry. Syria could jump in too but Russia would get that revenue.

Now who stands to gain the most from all of this instability? Islamic extremists.

Is this a land grab? Perhaps.

Look at what's replacing these "governments" and it's not better...its WORSE! Agreed, at the very least with respect to Egypt.

I am no fan of the American perspective of democracy for all. It only has a chance of working where citizens and governments are willing and able to work for it. I just like there to be predictability and stability in the middle east.

While all this is cause for concern, I think we'd be better off keeping Both eyes on China and it's ever expanding military.....esp. the Navy they're assembling. All the "cheap" goods we've been buying in this country is financing a communist government who will one day take us and others to task!!!!

China isn't really communist anymore. They added some capitalism to the mix. A small group of people gets extremely wealthy, but the peasant class remain peasants and the government still controls every aspect of their lives, while keeping wealth and power in the hands of the few through legislation, imprisonment, and taxation.

Sound familiar?
