Worth doing the delux and finding kegging equipment local or going all in with their kegging kit? Also I always had glass carboys and have the scars to prove it. How are the better bottles?

I have the better bottle carboy...lighter...works like a champ. HIGHLY recommend it.

If you're going to keg...I would do one of 2 things...buy a kegerator or make one. I scored one so damn cheap that it was impossible to NOT buy it. Currently I have 2 brews on tap...working well so far.

If you're just starting out and looking at the kits...I'd look at eBay. You can find them cheaper even with shipping...don't forget Craigslist too. You're going to need a turkey fryer and a SS pot to boil in. NB has flat rate shipping so if you want...order it all from them...its your call really. I'm a cheap **** and pieced my kit for a LOT cheaper than most. I always order more than one kit too to take advantage of the flat rate shipping...uysually order some other stuffs too.

It is to beers what CBid is to cigars.

Same handle there...wealth of info.

Wort Chiller would be nice.

Waaaaay too expensive and a waste of water!

We can buy ice really cheap here or we freeze milk jugs and use them in a plastic storage container...hell, we've even used the steps in a pool!

If you're going to stick to bottling...start buying the Belgian bottles...and reuse them! A floor corker is the key! Lot less bottles...lot less mess.

NB has the delux kit 25% off so it should be around 120 rather than 160.

I will definitely buy bottles this time. I'm not going through that BS again. Last time I was using 5L kegs with a co2 tap. I gave it away too. *sigh*

so belgian or at a minimum 22oz bottles it is. If I go belgian I should start drinking now.

So yo like the Kolsch Extract Kit (or is it the honey kolsch)? I was thinking of trying the Saison Extract Kit w/ Specialty Grains and/or the Dunkelweizen Extract Kit
and or the Bavarian Dunkel Extract Kit w/ Specialty Grains

Reissdorf and Gaffel. Those are the only true Cologne, Germany kolsches that you'll be able to find in the USA.
