Could it be interviews of her lecturing the American public about how they should live on carrots and celery and exercise and learn to sacrifice, paired with stories/pictures about their various trips and parties where they stuff their faces with pizza, hot dogs, hot wings, ice cream, beer and cigarettes? The photos of the kids smoking cigarettes were particularly disturbing.

As far as the first lady 'thing', they all pick a cause. Laura Bush's was into literacy, but no one hated her because her husband appeared to not be able to read.

Teedubya for me the food thing is worrysome not just because of her. Its part of an effort to take controll of food. What the wookie is advocating is fine its the control and implimentation that I don't like (yes her and family always eating fries and icecream reeks of hypocracy) .

I don't like mandates nor do I like centralized federal power.

Bah, most of what we're eating now isn't food anyway.

The American diet is terrible – especially for kids. Yes the government should do more – regulations if needed. God knows the parents aren’t smart enough to do the right thing. If the Michelle wants to help, more power to her.

I am surprised I did not make an Aunt Jemima joke – there was temptation . . . .

Come ‘on man, you want FDA approved meat for your kids, right?
It’s illegal to sell kids cigarettes, and that’s a good thing right?

How is this different?

Brewha.......you really stupid enough to not know the FDA's record? Or are you trying to hook me with a response. I refuse to take such a ignorant question seriously.

Actually I understood making fun of hilldog.

and if you are somehow terrified by someone advocating better nutiritional choices I guess I can understand that. But the wookie? weird.

If I feared Laura promoting Libraries I still wouldn't call her names. No mater how much GWB was a barnacle on the intestines of Jabba the Hut.

This is a prime example of why liberals shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Each and every one of you are so incapable of reasonable behaviors that you demand the government mandate regulations for everyone.
It would be funny.
Except that it's so pathetic.

Barack is scary enough. But we voted for him.
Michelle is just plain scary. And we didn't vote for her. Yet she's trying to get her massive tentacles around our ability to have a french fry.

TW,
We wouldn't be discussing this if her massive tentacles stopped at merely "advocating".
Her message regarding nutrition is a good one.
It's the fall out that a reasonable person will come to regret: additional regulations, forbidden foods, banned items, and of course a dozen new agencies to enforce it all.

And when you lose your ability to have a hamburger with extra mayo, I'm sure you'll thank your lucky stars that michelle was so tenatious in her efforts.

Fair enough. So you are against those policies (which she has no direct control over just a mini bully pulpit). It's also fair to say you are for smaller govt. So a first lady from a prez supporting your views would presumably be off limits (libraries, just say no ...) but someone proposing healthier diets extrapolates to a food police state and thus she is ugly, wookie, big ass etc.

I've just never gotten much into bagging on the first ladies, although hilldog was a tempting one. Since she eventually ran for office etc it makes more sense. Michele has never and will most likely never run for anythihng.

Pushing back on her issues etc is understandable. the othr nonsense is sort of classless.
