Had a little ice storm a couple of days ago here in N.W. Oklahoma. Alot of trees have lost branches. This is a pic of the golfcourse i play. there are alot of pretty scenes now with the sun out. It really makes the ice sparkle. I took advantage of the ice by getting the golcart out. I turned up the motor so it would go faster and we had a blast sliding around and doing donuts. When you have a bunch of lemons, you might as well make lemonade.

Some people will come up with any excuse to explain their poor golf game.
Sheesh!

So that is how you got that 500 yard drive you were talking aobut. Hit it on the ice and watch it roll for days!

LOL

You have to play what the course gives you, right?

And it was a 490 yard par 5..elevated tees....15mph. wind behind me,ball was just on the green after my drive. Read the putt.....about a 30 foot putt.I was just trying to get it close for an eagle....and it goes in for a double eagle.

But maybe i will go out Saturday and see how far it'll go. Should be fun.

Here's some of the records:

Longest Carry Of A Golf Ball
The greatest recorded carry of a golf ball is 418.78 m (458 yards), by America's Jack Hamm, at Highlands Ranch, Colorado, USA, on July 20, 1993.

"On Sept. 25, 1974, [Mike] Austin was playing in the U.S. National Seniors Open Championship at the Winterwood Golf Course in Las Vegas, a course since renamed Desert Rose. Austin drew back and unleashed a blast that flew more than 400 yards, bounced in front of the green and came to rest 65 yards beyond the flag-stick. That shot set the Guinness world record as the longest drive ever recorded in a PGA tournament: 515 yards."

That looks like my back yard. We arrived home from our cruise late Friday to find our town looking like this.

I have about 10 people who seen it happen. And Tiger doesnt hit the ball as far as you think he does. Let him hit drives on some of the fairways i have to play. He'd be lucky to get one over 300yds. I've played on a couple of courses that the PGA play on. Those guys have a huge advantage when it comes to manicured fairways. When i did this it was during the summer and we had had about 5 days of over 100* weather. The grass was getting brown and the ground was hard as a rock,so im sure that helped. And it didnt carry the green for who ever posted that world record.

You know...i have to becareful i guess when i tell this to people. When you step back and realize what you said....it does sound like a bunch of crap. Maybe because the ball was on the green and not hit from the fairway.

I'll be in Tulsa this year for the LDA. Me and a friend are going to enter just to see how we do. LDA=Long Drivers of America
So maybe i can hook-up with Goody again for a mini herf.

And to think....I just made that up! I had no idea that you had done it for real. I thought it would be a good joke, considering all the ice.

OOoohh well.

Actually it didnt get below 30* during the day. It wasnt that bad since the wind didnt blow. Heres the funny thing. This picture was taken the day after the ice storm, and just five days later the high today was 65*. It's currently 49* at 11:30pm. Two days from now the high will agian be in the lower 20's. Now that's just SICK!!!!
