Easy solution: stop fighting three wars.....then whack 500 billion out of the military!

...but we had better keep an eye on the Soviets!

Have I mentioned that this woman is an idiot yet?

The families supported by the military will need to be supported by something else. The military's role is not supposed to be a jobs creator.

If you like having a gun in every country, we are going to need to significantly raise everyone's taxes to pay for it.

The list of nations that would be on our front door if we didn't have guns in every country is pretty small, or even non-existent.

Permanent war needs to be ended.

it only takes one screwball nation to take us down. I don't agree that we should get rid of one of the biggest militaries in the world. My family is a part of our armed forces and we do serve an important function in this world. I would much rather solve our problems with diplomacy. Our history proves that military force is vital.

There isn't one screwball nation that is going to take us down and don't worry about the 500 billion equating to getting rid of the military. Actually it is less than a 10% cut!

Our military budget is the size of the rest of the world's military budget combined. We have turned "provide for the common defense" into providing for the common defense of every nation that is in line with our economic needs.

As a result, since WW2 the USA is almost always at war somewhere on the globe against some enemy that is just about to show up at our doorstep.

The only winners in this arrangement are the US military-industrial complex and the creditors of the USA.

“What people recognize is that there’s a fear that the United States is in an unstoppable decline. They see the rise of China, the rise of India, the rise of the Soviet Union and our loss militarily going forward,” Bachmann said on conservative activist Jay Sekulow’s show. “And especially with this very bad debt ceiling bill, what we have done is given a favor to President Obama, and the first thing he’ll whack is 500 billion out of the military defense at a time when we’re fighting three wars. People recognize that.”

😂

We better keep an eye on those Ottoman Turks as well!

China isn't as tough as people think. They're manipulating their currency, keeping GDP alive with the building of towns with no inhabitants and growing their military to try to match us. Same thing happened to the former USSR and they fell upon the weight they created. The former USSR gets a pass for keeping everything pretty much the way it was but with her credit wiped away and the issuance of new charge plates. Putin want's the USSR back. As far as being a "world player", Europe, the Pan-Asian, as well as the Middle East aren't going to stand with China or USSR...deal with those facts for a second. They've shown that they're not partners. They want colonies.

Now, as far as cutting military spending...yes. We should. There's no reason for us to have bases in Germany or Japan anymore. Korea? Maybe a case could be made, but I think we're just a stop gap measure from those 2 duking it out and they're playing on OUR dime! As for the rest of the world...call us when ya need us but this thing where we're on every corner waiting for an "event" to step in and police...game over baybee...game over.

We need to stop pretending and see the 900 lb gorilla in the room for what it is. A Vast Military Industrial Complex. A combat cornucopia of carnage. How many "intelligence" agencies do we really need? Time to get serious not grandstanding for headlines. Like I said, she shot her wad in her own backyard. NOBODY but the media takes her serious. The fact that they'll cover every word she says and ignore Ron Paul should tell you something right there. He's been the consistent player. He hasn't wavered. He's being recognized as the Godfather of the Tea Party but nobody is backing him. Better get on board the anti-incumbent train. It's leaving the station...D...R...I...I don't care. You're in? You're out! The more the merrier. The tent is open. Kill your tv and use your own damn critical thinking skills for a minute. See it for what it is...Kabuki Theater...a grand ball...the music is the same...the partners change. Kick them in the nuts and take your ball and go home! Send them packing. We STILL hold power...for how long is dependent on what we do every election cycle from here on out.

We saw how that played out for the bond and shareholders of GM and Chrysler too!

It didn't mean nuttin'!

Now for those poor saps that bought a car from GM or Chrysler...well they don't have to stand behind the WARRANTY!!!!

[frypan] [frypan] [frypan]

(I)n a recent filing with the U.S. District Court in Detroit, GM noted that the cars were made by its predecessor General Motors Corp, now called Motors Liquidation Co or “Old GM,” before its 2009 bankruptcy and federal bailout.

The current company, called “New GM,” said it did not assume responsibility under the reorganization to fix the Impala problem, but only to make repairs “subject to conditions and limitations” in express written warranties. In essence, the automaker said, Trusky sued the wrong entity.

“New GM’s warranty obligations for vehicles sold by Old GM are limited to the express terms and conditions in the Old GM written warranties on a going-forward basis,” wrote Benjamin Jeffers, a lawyer for GM. “New GM did not assume responsibility for Old GM’s design choices, conduct, or alleged breaches of liability under the warranty.“
