Another difference is that one wants to influence the two major political parties in the USA and the other is drifting more towards wanting the destruction of the global financial system and anarchy.

Militia groups?

So many more examples of tea party folks talking about overthrowing the government or violence because 'we have more guns' like from Breitbart.

Yeah, your description is total bs.

It has nothing to do with "my side" vs "your side". The Occupy Wall Street effort has been going on for over a month and you have already acknowledged that you have played no part. I have also played no part. You've been busy with snickerdoodles and I've been busy with work. That puts us both on the same side. Granted, I may begin actively participating (by French definition) by selling torches and pitchforks. Profiteering off the protests is a nice way to get to the top 1%.

I'm enjoying the paranoia and descriptions of the protesters and their motives on display here. I read it, listen to it and watch it elsewhere also. It's so over the top and demonstrably false that it will only hurt your cause. If you would just discuss the issues you disagree with instead of trying to demonize these people, who have many of the same complaints you do, the 'right' would appear more credible.

In the spirit of this post, here is some proof of which I am speaking.

On Anderson Cooper 9-14-09 Mark Williams said:

"It's about TARP. It's about taking money from the working stiffs and giving it to the big corporations. It's about the corporate takeover of Washington, D.C. It's about the representatives of the people representing everybody but the people. It's about this nation deviating from -- or this government, more accurately, deviating from this nation's legacy and destiny."

Wow, sounds familiar.

Who is Mark Williams?

Founding member, leadership position TEA PARTY. 4 National speaking tours to 180+ cities with arena size audiences.

Over 100+ appearances on FOX NEWS CHANNEL, CNN, MSNBC and various other outlets to comment on and analyze various issues and news stories.

Look at all the hippies in Madrid! I think there are a couple people who may agree with OWS.

Oh crap. Now churches are aiding the degenerate hippies, at least the ones who still listen to what Jesus actually taught and believe in the right to protest. When will this horror end!!!

In their stand against mammon, protesters occupying St Paul's churchyard to vent anger at reckless bankers found heartwarming support emanating from the house of God.

Far from requesting that the 300-strong crowd be removed from the cathedral steps on Sunday , the Rev Dr Giles Fraser, canon chancellor of St Paul's, requested that the police themselves move on as the Occupy London Stock Exchange protest entered its second day.

A line of officers had taken up position at the top of the steps to "protect" the building. "Which was very good of them," explained the canon. But then he had asked them if they would leave, "because I didn't feel that it needed that sort of protection".

With the sermon of the day appropriately including a gospel reading about "God and money", the regular congregation was joined by some of the protesters. The canon had warned them the cathedral bells were "really loud", so it was an early start to their first full day of occupation.

The protest indeed appeared to have struck a chord with many who were new to demonstrating. "I'm 40. Never been on a protest before. But I found myself here," said one man, who asked not to be named, from Sheffield. "I'm pretty middle of the road politically, so I wasn't sure about all the Socialist Workers placards at first. But this issue has attracted people from all walks of life. I'm a diehard atheist – there's a woman over there with a 'Jesus is Calling' placard. It's all of us."

Hippies in Madrid, Anderson Cooper, and a church. FuzzNJ, do you actually have a point?

All this thread was is a simple question of whether anyone has joined the protests. By my last count, nobody here has. Maybe it is time for some people to get off their asses.

In addition to raising MLK to their aid they're not going to stop there...oh no...they're gonna march...GOOSESTEPPING ALL THE WAY! The claims of anti-semitism were rampant from the begining...now there's no doubt!

Now The Nazi And Communist Parties Are Throwing Their Support Behind 'Occupy Wall St'

Over the weekend the American Nazi Party and the American Communist Party both declared their support for the Occupy Wall St. movement. From their statement:

What is really MISSING – is the “MOVEMENT” from these popular protests – its time to pull WN heads out of their collective ass’s, and JOIN IN the attack on Judeo-Capitalism. What do you suggest? That WN Working Class White people DEFEND the Judeo-Capitalists? IF the “movement” wasn’t so PATHETIC it would be OUT THERE – LEADING these protests! The fact that its these “lefties” as you call them, who are picking up the ball and running with it – only shows how much more in tune THEY are with the fed up masses of White Workers, than the fossilized, reactionary “right-wing”.

The Communist party has also jumped on board.

The announcement was quickly picked up in the conservative blogosphere and Drudge had a link to a report on it on the home page this morning.

Certainly, it's not exactly a surprise that a movement this size and getting this much attention would attract the fringe, but it could prove problematic for Obama in the next few days.

The president has been increasingly vocal about his support of the movement and is expected to increase that support on his upcoming bus tour.

Without a clear leader for the movement one imagines Obama is going to find himself spending more time than he'd like to answering for the participation of groups such as these.

And the Kenyan King supports them too! Seig Heil Comrade!

No wonder the Left supports this. They get to take the mask off and show you who they really are and it's not even Halloween!

I am still trying to figure out their point.

The best I can gather is:
The financial system is broken!
The tax structure is unfair!

In other news:
Water is wet!
The sun is hot!
