Well then you are officially the first business owner I've ever encountered that is 100% honest on their taxes.
My ex father in law grossed about 100K a year and paid maybe $1,500 a year in Federal income taxes. His accountant was a former IRS agent.
My old boss would write paper receipts for any sale over $30. Anything under $30 was rung up on the register, which was what he submitted to the IRS.
I know another guy who sub contracts construction projects. He's only going to claim what he got a 1099 on, which has been like 5 small projects so far this year.
Now...if people who only make 100-200K per year can do this, what kind of stuff can someone who makes 100 million a year get away with?
If what you say is true, and the top 5% pay most of the Federal taxes (I highly doubt it), then you're right. It's not fair.
We do need tax reform. And we will get it. And it won't help. It will make things worse. What the lefties and the OWS crowd don't seem to comprehend is that taxing the sh*t out of the rich only worked until we struck free trade agreements with half the 3rd world.
