Watched Paul on meet the depressed this weekend. My wife said... and I quote.... I don't know who that guy is but he is wrong in the head. There is just something wrong with him.

He is messed up. I agree with some of his ideas but taken in his entirety he is messed up.

Wheel, did you even READ wtf I said in that thread? I said that if it were truly "the rich" who pay all the taxes, that top 1% tier would start at 2-3 million, not 380,000. 380K ain't sh*t.

When it comes to RP and a lot of the political threads lately, all you do is repeat yourself. "You're uninformed"..."You really should learn more"...but you aren't SAYING anything. You cut and paste and make vague accusations/statements.

Do you honestly think I believe that RP would beat Obama if he got the nomination? The media would crucify him. RP would not beat Obama. But you know what would happen? Soon after Obama's 2nd term started, and sh*t kept getting worse and worse, maybe...just maybe...people would stop and think, "Hey...maybe that Ron Paul guy wasn't as much of a kook as the media made him out to be" and they would start to THINK about sh*t. They would start to think about where big government and costly foreign alliances have gotten us. They would start to think that maybe it's time to try something different.

OK man, I will dance this dance with you again.

Different is not always better as we saw in the last election. -- Obama wasn't different. Why do you think everything is still so f*cked up?

Pauls foreign policy views would be a disaster for us. -- Please explain how minding our own business, not spending billions in tax dollars propping up corrupt regimes, and not trying to police the world would be a disaster for us.

He advocates that ALL illicit drugs be legalized. -- And that's just crazy, because the "war on drugs" has been a cracking success, just like the war on poverty, right? It's not about drugs, it's about LIBERTY, freedom of choice, privacy, and property rights. The same logic applies to gun rights!

He is an anti semite -- You keep saying this and offer nothing to back it up. RP advocates stopping all foreign aid, and since that would include Israel, he's an anti Semite? Come on, bro.

All the RP potheads should put the bong down and pay attention.. -- I'm not a pothead. I haven't taken a hit off a joint in at least 12 or 13 years, and I would bet money that you consume waaaaaay more alcohol than I do. I AM paying attention. Are you? With all the other GOP candidates we would get more of the same. We've already tried all that bullsh*t. And look where it's gotten us.

Ok,,,

1, Ron Paul supporters are much like OWS'ers. It all looks good on a protest sign or a sound bite, but when put to practical use it's just not so simple.Like abolishing the Fed.Sounds, good but would decimate the remainder of the economy.

2,You can ignore his anti semitic views if you choose ,but go back and read what he has written.

3, Your moronic comparison of Gun Rights and Drug Leagalization speaks for it's self.

4, Congrats on giving up weed.I stopped when I became a responsible adult. Btw, don't be so sure about how much alcohol I consume.

It all looks good on a protest sign or a sound bite, but when put to practical use it's just not so simple.Like abolishing the Fed.Sounds, good but would decimate the remainder of the economy. -- Yeah, it would probably hurt pretty bad for a year or so. But leaving the bullet in the wound and bleeding to death slowly sucks way worse than the pain of yanking the bullet out and cauterizing the wound.

2,You can ignore his anti semitic views if you choose ,but go back and read what he has written. -- Again with this BS, and again...you found some crap that wasn't even written by him, back from the early 90s, that was debunked during the 2008 campaign.

3, Your moronic comparison of Gun Rights and Drug Leagalization speaks for it's self. -- Again you make a statement without saying anything. Was the prohibition of alcohol successful? Do you consider the drug war to be a success? Billions upon billions of dollars spent, hundreds of thousands of people in jail, and the number of drug users is roughly the same today as it was 30 years ago. FDA approved prescription drugs kill more people than illegal street drugs, and if you factor in alcohol and tobacco, there's no comparison. Criminalization has not stopped drug use, and legalization would not create more addicts or crime. The addicts and the crime are already there, despite all the laws, all the raids, all the prisons, all the billions of dollars. If all drugs were legalized tomorrow, would you become a crackhead or heroin junkie? Prohibition laws don't work. All prohibition laws do is create black markets, violent crime, and corruption at every level of government and law enforcement. It is simple economics. If there is a demand, there will be a supply. And it absolutely IS comparable to gun rights. It's a personal choice/privacy/property rights issue. I assume you are not a fan of the ObamaCare provision that requires people by law to have health insurance...so flip the coin..why are you a fan of government dictating what people can and can't put in their bodies?

4, Congrats on giving up weed.I stopped when I became a responsible adult. Btw, don't be so sure about how much alcohol I consume.

I think we're already thinking of that, Ron Paul is not needed for that. Obama is largely considered a failure, so we need to get a suitable replacement in 2012, not merely engender further outrage and let 2016 come around while things collapse further.

People said the very same thing about H. Ross Perot and guess what? If he would've been elected perhaps we wouldn't be in this mess that the alphabet soup has caused this nation.

WAKE THE **** UP!

Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity!

Read the man's books. PLEASE. You'd be better off for it, I can't say the same for the Kenyan King's works or for any of the other stooges running on the GOP platform right now. If that's the best we have as a nation to go up against this assclown of a man and a complete failure as a President...game over. Katy bar the door. Take everything that isn't nailed down and run. GTFO of here now! The **** is broke and it's not going to get fixed!

The Far Right Contemplates The Republican Front-Runner

It seems that now we're stuck with Mitt.

Reciting right-wing holy writ,

He still sounds moderate a bit.

Although it's nothing he'll admit,

A healthcare plan's his biggest hit.

(The thought of that gives us a fit.)

And Born-agains, from where they sit,

Still state their firm belief, to wit:

As Chrisitans, Mormons aren't legit.

We've said for months, "This man's not it."

We wish that Palin hadn't split.

We wish Perry weren't such a nit.

(his pilot light is not quite lit.)

Because, it seems, we're stuck with Mitt.

As the song goes.... if you have to ask... you'll never know.... to be honest I'm not going to go into any specifics because I will never convince you and really don't want to. I think he is a valuable participant in the process.

He has a lot of merit and I view him and his ideas as valuable to the overall discussion. I don't beleive anyone has all the answers and think we are stronger by pulling the best ideas from multiple sources (some of them should be his) While I agree with many of his ideas I beleive if you hit the reset button and implemented his platform completely things would really be effed up. His ideas should be debated but I find some dangerously nieve. It is easy to be cerebral and theoretical in a vacuum when you never have to test your ideals in reality. The reality filter has a nasty way of effing up idealism. Just ask Marx. Our country is messy. I'm glad it is. It is unpleasant at times but we are stronger for it.

He is not realistic or viable. I also beleive it is very easy to be invested in someone or something 100% when you know there is 0% chance of winning. Gives you somethin to bitch about and you can throw poo at those who do win. It's like being a Cubs fan.

It is sort of like folks that go to a management seminar, ramsey, et al and come back bound and determined to emulate them 100%. meh. pull out the good parts, mix them with other ideas from other sources and formulate your own methods\style. If you are smart yours will be better adapted to your circumstances. If you are an idiot their method probably wasn't going to help you much anyway.

That is what makes our country great. no one party or group has all the best ideas and no one party or group completely sucks (except for the amish, the mormans, the scientologists and the the entire state of mississippi and the contiguous counties from bordering states.). He will and should influence the debate but I would fear the day we went with his pilosophy entirely. Luckily I have no fear at this point.
