In this video clip he was talking about health care overall and not specifically about this woman's mother when he was discussing unneccessary procedures and/or surgery when other methods might be suffice. A non-controversial topic that has been discussed for decades and something insurance companies are doing all the time to save money, and not in a responsible way that benefits the patient either, which is what Obama was talking about.
