Dutch Firm Apologizes for Design Resembling 9/11 Attack

SEOUL, South Korea – A Dutch architectural company has apologized for a design of two Seoul skyscrapers that to some resembles the World Trade Center exploding during the 9/11 terror attacks.

MVRDV said in a statement on its website Monday that it wasn't its intention to create an image evoking the 2001 attacks.

It says it "sincerely" apologizes to anyone whose feelings it has hurt.

The design unveiled in Seoul last week is supposed to show a cloud covering the center of the buildings.

The statement didn't say whether MVRDV will retain the design.

A South Korean business partner says construction is to start in 2013.

Wow - this reminds me of when there was an outcry to get the name of the second Lord of The Rings movie changed, because "...The use of that name would remind people of the 9/11 attacks."

It reminds me more of a fuzzy "H" than anything else.

The building design doesn't remind me of the 9/11 attack at all, but I'm definitely outraged that the Dutch have anything to do with it...does that count?
