Back in the old days - that would be anytime before the first "Wrestlemania" - I believe that many of the TV wrestling WWF shows were taped in the Allentown / Bethleham area, probably pretty close to the CI world headquarters. I had a college buddy who used to hang with them at the bars in town. He said Andre the Giant could drink about 40 beers and still be going strong.

Bruno was a great champion and an unequaled ambassador of professional wrestling in his day. I remember watching him on Studio Wrestling on the local station, WIIC Channel 11 in The Burgh. 'Chilly Billy' Cardille was the host and old Pie Traynor did commercials for American Heating (Who can? Ameri-can!)

You could always tell when Bruno was going to have a scuffle with one of the bad guys when he was trying to do an interview with Cardille. Bruno had this certain plaid sports jacket that must have been held together by about 6 threads. Any time he showed up to do an interview wearing that jacket you KNEW one of the bad guys like Tony 'TNT' Napolitan or Baron Scicluna was going to start a scuffle with him during the interview, and inevitably Bruno's sleeve would be ripped off or the the jacket would be torn halfway up the back.

Good times. 🍺
