When you're down and out, and the local church or food pantry keeps your kids fed, I doubt you'll be bemoaning thier core-beliefs.
Meanwhile, you could wait months for governement assistance if you don't fit their neat and tidy profile of who is fit to receive.
Charity and community are from the heart.
Government welfare is a top-heavy bureoucracy.
I often loathe the proselytizing that the religious right do.
But when push comes to shove, they are there and they put their money where their heart is. No second thoughts. Actions and deeds in place of promisses and words.
