I am not sure it this is the place to ask this question or not, but how many trades do you have to do before you are considered a vet and participate in the vet only trades?
Thanks,

Hey Que,
Glad you asked that question, I wondered that when I first arrived here to, just never asked it. It really varies, with the individual. Some people were calling me a vet, less than six months after I started here, though I didn't consider myself a vet. After completing several favorable trades, with the vets, they started calling me a great trader, but not a vet. I think it was the first unsolicited bomb, that had others calling me a vet. It really is up to others, when you reach this status, and not a set number of trades. Good Luck reaching Vet status. I still do not consider myself to be a vet.

many of the BOTL that I consider the biggest/baddest vets participate in as many newbie trades as the do vet trades. The opportunity to spread the knowledge/joy they've acquired to new guys is part of what gives them truly vaulted status. In turns of exact numbers, the is no quantitative measure - it's more of a Gestalt perception.

As I understand it, it's all part of a 12 step program. First you have to admit you have a problem.

I'm not sure as to the rest of the steps as I do not consider myself a vet(much like my friend Homebrew), compared to some of the great BsOTL here...I'm NOT!

Best advice I can give is just trade like your loco, rope as many folks as you can into the Brotherhood, and share the love man...share the love!

Peace out!

I don't think it's so much how many trades you do, or how long you've been here, or how long you've been smoking, or how cool your handle is, or what color your hair is...

It's your reputation that pepole value not the number of trades

Are you a trusty trader? If I work a trade with you, can I expect not to be screwed? Do you repay in kind either to me or someone else down the road (PIF's PIB's)? Are you an all take and no give? If my snowblower **** the bed and I have 26 inches of f'n snow to clear, will you help me out? Stuff like that.

That's just my take

Also don't get all worried about titles. A Vet is someone who takes care of my dog and cats. As long as your a true BOTL and don't go out and screw someone, you have nothing to worry about.

If you do, it's a small world.

I've lurked the trade board for some time. Been tempted, but...

It seems that a lot of trades at some point include ISOMs. Since I don't even know how to buy an ISOM w/o getting ripped off, I've been reluctant to even try a trade, since I don't want to be thought of as a piker. It would mortify me to not be able to match or exceed anything I was trading.

bottem?

why not trade for some isoms?

there are several reputable places......

we traded for about 6 months before we had isoms.....don't let that stop you from trading.

Bottomfeeder,

I do not trade for ISOM's as I do not purchase any. I have done a few trades here that involved only good cigars that are legal here in the USA... I have received ISOM's in a few trades, but I was not searching for them.

The people here on this board lean to the generous side. Some may include an ISOM with a trade because they want to, not because you expect them to.

email me, let's do a trade to get you started...
