Russ;
Thought I'd share one of my last projects with you. The left end is actually a wine bar behind a set of false doors on the front.

Make a hell of a humidor, wouldn't it?

Lance - I wish. This was a new home built for an IBM executive in an oceanfront neighborhood on the south coast of Massachusetts. 7000 square feet for two people with everything you ever wanted in a home. I did all the cabinetry - the dining room (shown), huge kitchen with a cooking isiland the size of an average kitchen in itself, three baths, misc. built-ins around the house, all in hand rubbed S.A. mahogany. It was a huge project for a one man operation, took me three months of 12 hour days, 7 days a week to build and install. Man, I get tired just thinking of that one again......

Only 7000 sq ft??? Sounds a bit cramped to me. LOL Always have loved great woodwork. John

Gand, that looks fantastic!!!!

Why did the guy go with that type flooring?

Brazilian Cherry would have matched up better with the wall unit? or even Ipe...

I know do it the way the customer asks... man some things like that make you wanna cringe though... especially with the hours you got in it...

Gand,

does that split two rooms?? it looks to be another room in the rear of the picture??

Man I wish I had a house big enough to accent like this...

THIS is a thing of beauty.....you are a true craftsman.........did you learn that from the elves? if so, which ones?

Chris, from the woodland elves of Mirkwood......

Hog - yeah, go figure. Every door, casing, and all trim was SA mahogany, and they chose Maple for the ONLY wood floor in the whole house. Everything else was tile, marble and carpet.
Customer is always right though.......

The dining room hutch backed an Entertainment center in the adjoining room that you see on the left hand side of the photo. This accounts for the thickness of the end which provided a nice space for a small wet bar with a wine refrigerator. It looked a little funky to me because the false doors created such a thin visual line when viewed from the end.
