The closing was done by a plastic surgeon. I've seen some of her work so I have high hopes. The problem stems from what she was given. The wound was the size of a half dollar. She did pretty well considering. Still very little pain. Swelling around the eyes is the worst, and I have natural eyeshadow for a few days (shiners).

I normally wear bangs, so many people didn't even know I had a spot, so I'm anticipating the scar will be covered more or less the same. I'm not a vain person, so I can live with what I end up with. There are so many worse things that I could have had to deal with. This is very minor, in my mind.

Look into topical arnica cream. It is a simple homeopathic treatment for the reduction of scars. Apply liberally, and especially while swelling is worst.
Not a miracle cure, but with consistent use, can and often will reduce visible scarring. MY ex-GF had a daughter get lymph node surgery on her neck...the cream made a huge difference in the healing. You can barely tell she went under the knife.
