Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same
complaint. Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip
surgery.

The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day
and has a time booked for surgery the following week.

The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an
appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an
x-ray, which isn't reviewed for another week and finally has his
surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards
decision on his age and remaining value to society.

Why the different treatment for the two patients?

The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet. The SECOND is a Senior

Citizen on ObamaCare...

Sounds about right.
The medical treatment given in the military isn't much better, and we carry guns.

The owner of the dog is picking up the tab for treatment. If the senior were to walk into the doctor and say "No, I don't have insurance I'm paying in cash," they would bump patients and have him in surgery the same day.

No offense to the OP or anyone else but the reason some folks are whining about Obamacare is because they'll be forced to endure higher costs and lousy coverage like some of us hard working schlubs have been enduring with gems like BC/BS for decades with no other options.

Welcome to the club. Feel our pain. Now you'll find out what it's like to pay $$$$ out of pocket when you want really good medical help not covered (or severely rationed) by THE PLAN.

It'll be business as usual for politicians and the rich however...

Not to worry, we will all soon be getting 'veterinary care' as recommended (mandated) by medical review boards. Too bad some recommendations for care will be 'adjusted' based on the age of patient. Some 'adjustments' will include withholding treatments due to age and the likelihood of a good recovery. They may never quite get to euthanasia, but the result will be the same unfortunately it will involve even more suffering.

It's shameful to even call it "medical care".

My father just went to one of the better hospitals in a suburb of DC, and the nursing care was pitiful. We had to have family or hire a caretaker to keep an eye on him round the clock so that he wouldn't lie in his own waste.
...so don't be telling me the myth of how "wonderful" things are now. We are just a notch above third world except that our boxes of hospital tissues and bandaids are $28@.

$28 for a bandaid in the hospital? That's cheap.

My daughter cut her finger and her bandage cost her $700

That's a crime, Mrs. Tank. No wonder the insurance companies, health providers, and their investors are laughing at us.

Have I mentioned that the health care industry is under the Obama Cone of Protection? With Obamacare people think this is not true but it is counter-intuitive.
