My wife and I are both turning the big 5-0. We decided to get a jump on our bucket list. Life has been good to both of us so we have visited many places during our lifetimes. She is an Army Brat BTW.

Our first trip is to visit Scotland, taking our two children with us. We are both of Scottish Heritage (Campbell's, Robertson's and Dunn's).

What locations are on your Bucket Lists---🇨🇮

My wife and I have been quite lucky as well. The big six o for me in a couple of months. The first Caribbean sailing trip with Frannie's brother, I wasn't quite a kicking and screaming participant but close to it. That was, I think, eight trips back, from the BVI's to the Grenadines and a lot of places in between. Another eight in the same company would be nice.

I'm going to Oktoberfest this year, followed by a week in Italy.

Next spring my daughter is going to be in Scotland for a pharmacy rotation, so we are going to go visit her and go to Glasgow where my grandfather was born.

2 down, too many to go...

And I'm another old Scottish bastid. We will be visiting Scottland next year and then taking a Scandinavian cruse. The wifey is Finnish.

On my personal list would be a fishing trip to Alaska or British Columbia. Anyone want to join me?

China, the Seychelles and a few other places sound interesting but in this day and age the tin cup list is more apropos IMHO:

mortgage
food
electricity/water
taxes
business incidentals
phones/fax
payroll
health insurance
transportation
clothes
booze/cigars (optional)
cable

Have I missed anything? Nope, I think that's about it. Will relive the Greek islands with slides/photo album.

Just returned from ours....Alaska been talkin about it since we got married. 20th anny was in June. 50thbday in oct. decided last summer we would finally do it started saving n paying for lodging and airfare a year ago. When we took off, the only cost left was spending money. We started hoarding every 5$ bill either of us got a year ago. Really added up.

Did a week between a buds place in Seattle and visiting denali park. Then a week at an all inclusive fishing lodge. Turned off email n txt for the entire trip. The world continued ....

Best. Trip. Ever!!!!

Caught our biggest rainbows ever. Brought back a huge bunch of salmon. Loved every minute.

If you really want to do something....plan it. Save. Do it.

IMHO.

dkeage - we are in the same situation - 24th anny is end of August. 50th Bdays (both) are in October. Been planning this for almost a year. Well worth the planning and anticipation. Looking forward not backwards.

Riverdog - 25 years ago a group of 18 of us rented two sailboats and raced each other from island to island in the Carribean for a week. We still talk about that. Wife and I were dating at the time. Lots of good stories there.

Man, that would be great! You'd have a large time with a beer or ten, a couple or three stogies and my BIL. He's got a sailing school and charter captain service out of the Tortola. The stories of things that didn't go quite right alone are worth the price of admission.
