Some of the greatest fishing in the world off the coast of Hawaii.I've fished off Kona many times......I long to go back after looking at this pic.If you're a fisherman you haven't lived til you've had a Pacific sailfish on the end of your line.Only a 55lbr but 1 of only a dozen or so caught that year(82 IIRC) and some of the most spectacular acrobatics I've ever seen.....and they'll really test your gear.I've never caught a Blue Marlin but it is on my short list.


I caught a 90+lb yellowfin off Molokai back in 92 or 93.Excellent eating and it put up one helluve fight.

I need to find some blue water fishing and soon..................The best stress reliever in the world.

Heard her interviewed on Fox this morning.Would've been a world record could she have handled the marlin by herself.....that being said few grown men could've.She said the fish died after a few hours of fighting a couple hundred yards out.....had to be hauled in from there dead weight.Awesome catch..................

nice grander, black marlin usually get that big. blue marlin like that is rare. i caught a half grander of key west, woods wall, on 30 lb test, best 3 hours of my life. i let her go after measuring her. put a replica mount on my wall. fish on ah the sunny slopes of long ago. monty white 2 was my victory cigar. the odd thing about the trip was that a sand storm in the sahara got caught in the trades and circled the globe and came down on us the sea was dead calm like glass and we got sand in the boat.
