White House declines Netanyahu request to meet with Obama

The White House's response marks a new low in relations between Netanyahu and Obama, underscored by the fact that this is the first time Netanyahu will visit the U.S. as prime minister without meeting Obama; PM to meet with Clinton

Probably has more important things to do, like go on vacation, golf, or oversee the folks producing of his "home brews". Then again, it could be that whole "Muslims hate Jews" thing.

Shaul Mofaz understands the situation!

By LAHAV HARKOV, JPOST.COM STAFF

Opposition leader Shaul Mofaz attacked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Wednesday over what he perceives is a growing rift between Israel and the United States, asking rhetorically: "Who are you trying to replace? The administration in Washington or that in Tehran?"

Speaking at a special Knesset session taking place during the summer recess, Mofaz slammed the prime minister for what some believe to be an ongoing diplomatic rift between the two countries. "How far will you allow this deterioration in relations to continue?" he asked. "Prime minister, please tell me who our biggest enemy is. The US or Iran?"

Tensions between the the two countries were reportedly roiling after Netanyahu asked the US to set red lines for Iran’s nuclear program. The prime minister was rebuffed by senior US official, who stated that such ultimatums were unhelpful. In a bid to dispel rumors of a rift, the US State Department announced that Obama spoke with Netanyahu for an hour about Iran and other security issues on Tuesday night.

Mofaz said that Netanyahu's approach was not only alienating a main ally in the US, but was also ineffective in isolating Iran. "We saw the results of Netanyahu’s actions two weeks ago when 120 countries and the secretary-general of the United Nations applauded our greatest enemy," he said. Mofaz was referring to the Non-Aligned Movement summit, hosted by Tehran, and touted by Iranian official for proving that Western diplomatic efforts to sanction the Islamic Republic have failed. "The world will not turn its back on Israel," Mofaz said. "The world is not sick of Israel, the world is sick of Netanyahu and does not believe him."

Mofaz added that the US has an interest in a "strong and secure Israel in permanent borders."

Smell the glove!

Going on Letterman is more important than any of your influence and stability peddling!

Besides, even if he were to meet with him he'd make him leave out the back loading dock next to the trash!

What a President...respect the Office? Not with the Kenyan King I won't. You fools can.

Did the Israelis riot and burn the American consulate?
Did they murder our Ambassador to Israel?

Oh, sorry. This isn't the Peaceful Islam thread, is it?

I for one wish Bush took a lot more vacations than he did... like a 5 year one stretching over his last term (for which a bunch of **** idiots put him back in) and the last year of his first term.

You don't think a President traveling on Air Force One with aids and staffers and all the technology is "in the loop" while in the air and on the ground? Remember back to 9/11 when Bush was reading to the kids and was told something terrible had happened? I am willing to bet he wouldn't have been alerted any faster than he was had he been in the Presidential Residence relaxing, out for a jog, or even sitting in the Oval Office. Some of what i am reading leads me to conclude that no President should ever leave the White House...

Netanyahu comments on Obama phone call

Prime Minister Netanyahu wouldn't get into specifics with the media about his phone call with President Obama in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, in a conversation with The Jerusalem Post, characterized his post-midnight telephone call Wednesday with US President Barack Obama as a "good conversation."

"We spoke about our common goal of stopping Iran from developing its nuclear weapons program, and our desire to closely coordinate our efforts," he said.

When asked whether Obama referred to his comments that those who do not place red lines in front of the Iranians cannot place a red light in front of Israel, Netanyahu replied that he was "not going to get into details of this discussion."

"Obviously I have my views and am not exactly shy about expressing them when I think that Israel's vital security concerns are involved," he said. "This is my responsibility as the prime minister of the Jewish state. We are facing the greatest security challenge of any country on the face of the earth, and when I feel I need to speak out, I do."
Bottom line: The Prime Minister of the United States' most important ally in the Middle East (and one of its most important allies in the world) asked to meet with the President of the United States regarding the number one security issue on the international agenda. The President of the United States doesn't have time to meet him because he is too busy partying with the Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt and cracking jokes with David Letterman.

And he still claims that 'relations with Israel have never been closer' and that he's 'got Israel's back.'

Draw your own conclusions.

"Draw your own conclusions." - I already did...If Israel is going to do ANYTHING...they're on their own and this stooge of a man that some call a President isn't going to do a damn thing! Fire away...do whatever you have to do as a nation to protect yourself from the threat Owedumba put all along your borders!

The sooner the better.

UNREAL… Obama Invites Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood President to Meet Next Week – Refuses to Meet Netanyahu

Unbelievable!…Barack Obama invited Muslim Brotherhood Egyptian President Mohammad Morsi to meet with him in New York next week.

But, not Netanyahu.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lectured Barack Obama in the Oval Office on the dangers facing the Jews back in May 2011.

But… Barack Obama won’t meet with Israeli leader Netanyahu over Iran row.

He’s going to be campaigning and on Letterman.

Reuters reported:

The White House has rejected a request by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to meet President Barack Obama in the United States this month, an Israeli official said on Tuesday, after a row erupted between the allies over Iran’s nuclear programme.

An Israeli official told Reuters on condition of anonymity that Netanyahu’s aides had asked for a meeting when he visits the United Nations this month, and “the White House has got back to us and said it appears a meeting is not possible. It said that the president’s schedule will not permit that”.

Netanyahu has met with Obama on all the Israeli leader’s U.S. trips since 2009.

Earlier today President Muhammad Morsi promised to sue the US filmmakers who produced a movie that insulted the prophet Mohammad.

UPDATE: Barack Obama told NBC tonight “I don’t think that we would consider (Egypt) an ally.”
(Maybe he should have thought about that before he threw Mubarak under the bus!)
