So a moderator of a presidential debate is supposed to insert her own input while the two candidates are discussing a topic? And this input can be completely random, because it's not offered for all facts and figures?

Let's forget that she told Romney to "sit down".
Let's forgive her for allowing the incumbent Obama a full 10% more speaking time.
But to have her interject with "it's in the transcript" is unfair and in fact misleading to JQ Public.

Read the transcript.
The "acts of terror" that Obama spoke about in the Rose Garden were CLEARLY in reference to the 2001 9/11 attacks.

If I write a scathing letter to your boss telling her that "TW loves women to sit on his lap at lunch time", I can't later claim that I sent a letter stating simply that "TW loves women".
Or could I? I mean, it's in the transcript. Verbatim.

Well, they are just newscasters...and all they really do is read a Teleprompter...there's a kinship...a bond...a truce that they have with the Kenyan King...he's one of theirs...it's not because they're aligned politically...forget that...it's because of the Teleprompter!

Next election cycle we should go in a different direction for the moderation of Presidential debates...

1st debate - Pee Wee Herman

Vice Presidential debate - a rodeo clown

2nd debate - Jay Leno

3rd debate - Simon Cowell

May I just inject a town hall forum comment and then move on:

NO YOU MAY NOT, BUT U MAY TAKE TWO UMBRELLA STEPS.

IF U DON'T KNOW THE REFREENCE ASK SOMEONE OVER 60.

I think you are all wet Tail and you are letting your bias taint you.

Romney was wrong on the small point and correct on the larget point. pretty simple.

And Romney didn't follow the rules of the debate as agreed upon by both parties. he had no intention to. Neither did obama. obama was just more graceful when asked to. Romney felt the need to be more aggressive.

thats neither good nor bad ... just my opinion. we all have them. Don't mistake yours as fact.

I'm trying to decide if I should vote for Gary Whatshishead. I hear that a vote for him is really a vote for the Big O though.... at least thats what the internets say.

It was between Gary and Mitt but I think Mitt comes accross as a douche and wears the same flip flops John Kerry does.

James Carville Says 80% Of Democrats Are Politically Clueless

Posted by The Rat RESPECTED DEMOCRAT OPERATIVE SPILLS HIS GUTS ON WHAT HE THINKS OF HIS PARTY

James Carville, Democrat political consultant extraordinaire – and former Bill Clinton campaign manager, has astonishingly come out and said what all good Republicans have known for decades: Not only are most Democrats politically clueless; they’re easily manipulated by the puppet masters of their party as well. Wow. James Freaking Carville. Of all people. Here’s an excerpt, as quoted on Amazon.com:

ā€œIdeologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.

The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.

What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.

Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.ā€

Bingo. I couldn’t have written that for ol’ James any better myself. Truth be told, I’ve always had kind of a love-hate relationship with Carville. While I’ve never agreed with him on much of anything –unless he was commenting on the failures of his party, which unlike most political operatives, he’s not been afraid to do through the years – this is different. This amounts to a total confession of what I define in the right sidebar of this blog as the quintessential ā€œpolitical lieā€:

Liberals saying things they know aren’t true for the sole purpose of exploiting the ā€œless-than-informedā€ for political gain.

I just disagree and find what she did perfectly acceptable.

I think she did the best she could to regain control of two massive egos who couldn't follow the rules. moderating is a far more difficult task than most could ever realize with a real skill-set that few truly have.

(And, I am voting for Romney, so don't think for a moment that my opinion is based on anything but my true opinion unaffected by who I support.)
