They look, particularly the one on the left, like Kristoff's to me...but I'd need to smoke it to be sure!

Well whatever the one on the left was it was GOOD! I know I've had that cigar before and I just can't place it. It definitely had some kick to it. Some nice pepper and cleared the sinuses on the retrohale. The one on the right will get lit tonight because it's driving me crazy having them in my box and not knowing what it is....

BTW Dr... I think you were right. It was a cigar!

I think you folks are wrong about them being Kristoffs. Kristoffs usually have a closed foot like the stick on the left, BUT the pigtail is large like the stick on the right.

The one on the left may be a PDR 1878 Capa Habana. It's the only smoke I've familiar with that has that shape pigtail and a closed foot.

The one on the right sure has the Kristoff style pigtail, but is lacking the closed foot. Sad to even suggest it, but it may be a VS Bohemian.

DP I agree the one on the right looks like a VS the one on the left could be a Krisoff but the cap looks like something pete would put out... Hmmm hard one...

Just went down to the cooler, and pulled out a PDR 1878 Capa Oscuro Churchill. Spit'n image of the stick on the left. Pigtail, closed foot and ring guage to length all match, except darker wrapper, so the same stick in the Capa Habana wrapper makes sense.

Never heard of that stick before but I smoked it and I really liked it. Are PDR's known for having some kick to their smokes? This was a really smooth stick but it had a kick, especially on the retrohale. Are PDR's considered to be a good cigar or are they considered to be on the low end etc? Thanks for the help from everyone who replied.

Stephen,

The 1878 line are much better then the PDRs available at CI/CBID. I've smoked the Capa Maduro, Capa Natural and Capa Oscuro, but never had the Capa Habana. From the reviews I've read, it's suppose to be smooth, but medium/full with a cayanne kick, so the flavor profile seems as if it fits what you experienced. Size of Churchill is 7" x 54, which from the photo looks about right, but again, I'm lookng at a photo. Does the ring guage sound right to you?

Retail on these is just over $6, though in the past, before anyone knew about these, I've won the other wrappers for as little as $1.40.

Does that come in a 7" x 54 like the stick Stephen posted the photo of? I thought that smoke was much smaller, plus the pigtail has a tailed, flat finish, not like the photo.
