All I know is that our debt will soon be increased by almost 4 trillion to 20 trillion. =p~

anyone read/hear about the additional pork they snuck into the fiscal cliff stuff? Additional funds going to Hollywood, railroad companies, etc etc....

I wouldn't doubt if the only reason it took so long to come to some agreement was so that all these friends of politicians could stick their hands out and get on this gravy train. 😣

You're kidding? I'm afraid to look. All I know is that they're borrowing about 46 cents for every dollar spent.
Well at least sequestration has been put off for 2 months for military contractors...

What ever they did was not good for the majority of taxpayers, unless they happen to be a large political donors. The donors were relaxed and confident the parliament of whores was doing their bidding..

in fact the vast majority of the 157 page bill deals with special interest pork. The portion that deals with the "bush tax cuts" is only a few pages - about 20 pages. about 7 pages for extension of some deductions for individuals. the vast majority of the remaining 130 pages is special interest pork.

BUT AT LEAST THEY FINALLY PASSED SOMETHING! so I am only looking at about a 1.5 - 2.0 percent reduction in my income (tax increase).

I ain't readin all dat.

Just did a quick google and came across this article. Probably gives a little taste of all the backroom negotiations that took place during the drama of the approaching deadline.

F*&!...I just saw it (the 2% SS increase) in my first check of 2013...only it was 2.5% 🤦

So...all of this talk (BS) about helping the middle-class, and EVERYONE gets to pay more? Seriously, maybe I missed something. I can't stand watching the news, especially if there's a politician talking. But how is this helping the middle class? There's gonna be some pizzed off folks that consider themselves "middle class," and were all for sticking it to the man and the evil rich, that will see their first check and say, WTF?!?!

Boner won't resign. Doesn't think he did anything wrong. But he will lose Speaker. From Day 1 I would rather have had Wheel's Ham Sammich as Speaker.
