Spent the day in the French Quarter today and save the doggie parade. All I can say is Wow! There sure are some strange people in this world but that is what makes it interesting. I was really surprised at the size of the crowd, thousands of people out there. Just a few sample pictures.

I went to mardi gras a year after the hurricane. At about 1 in the morning bourbon street filled with gangs, so many you had to walk through the middle of them to get past them and I will never go back. Have a brother just move there and he is enjoying it so far but not my cup of tea. Hopefully it was just because of the time being so close to after the hurricane and they cleaned it up a little but I left there thinking glad I went to say i did but never again.

Its a cool place for sure. Diverse and very fun !

............was able to take my wife on a work trip in 08 after some areas were cleaned up, many still not re-built, we stayed a couple of nights in the French Quarter, just off Bourbon.......... Place d' Armes, and Hotel St. Marie...................best I remember because I stopped at the Visitor Center at the State line, and they were so desperate that summer for business there was a special deal for a room during the week for 29 bucks a night!!!!

Place d' Armes is a really cool historic building, although the funny story we have, as well as a picture, LOL they told us the room had a "view".................BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA, I need to dig up that pic, you haD TO step up on a platform and stoop down to peek out a small window to see some electric wires, I think, I've gotta dig up those pics, good memories!!


As for the gangs and such during Mardi Gras, that seems to have always been an element in that area, and a few others where tourists can be taken advantage of, that's why my wife has a carry permit, hehe.

we were lucky enough to be there during Essence Festival. HA

They all need to get a job!!! No wonder they had so much trouble getting them to leave when the leavy broke. All together there's about 6 whole, working brains in that crowd!

This place is going to be crazy over the next week. The super bowl and mardigras, at the same time! It took us 45 minutes to park for the pooch parade, can't imagine what it will be like this weekend. Think I'll stay in my neck of the woods and maybe check out the bourbon street camera on line.

They rebuilt that city, why?

Haven't been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans in many years. The last time I went to a parade, some 60 year old women threatened to "joog" me over 25 cents worth of plastic beads.

The older the berry the sweeter the juice...or..wait? 🤔

Don't think se was interested in sharing berry juice, not with an open pocket knife in her hand.
