Not only did I have to go to Atlanta this week to pack and move my parents into a managed care home but I had to take their 90lbs 11 year old lab/shepard mix, Maggie from them.

Although a sweetheart she is too big for the new home and with some hip issues, soon to be way more than they can handle.

My mom had an agreement with my cousin in Iowa to take Maggie "someday" and that day has come. Denise has had many big dogs and volunteers for a rescue group so Maggie could not be in better hands.

Maggie on the right with her new younger brother Dewey at her now forever home.

Both dogs had a great intital meeting and night together, I am confident she will do great there.

I had to comment because I just love Labs! They're so friendly and affectionate I'm not surprised they get along well.

Maggie looks like my Jake, a lab/King sherpherd mix. Dewey looks like my daughter's dog Tipper. He may not be excited to be compared to female, but Dewey will never know.

Sweet picture!

Thanks, I try and be a good son!
She did well in the car considering she hasn't had a drive like that for a few years.
We went for short walks every 2 hours so we both could stretch our legs but with her hips I had to lift her in.
