Think of the mac address like a home address. You're only going to have one on each street. It's known and viewable from those on the inside "behind the curtain". Some server admins can perform almost the same function using Active Directory. I love it when people think they can say whatever on the internets...with the proper access you can nail them down and post their coordinates in the same thread! Oh the fun.
