A good friend of mine is a local historian, and columnist for the local newspaper in Douglasville, GA.

She's recently found a photo confirming the fact there was a bridge that was over the railroad in town that ran between Atlanta and Birmingham. Surprisingly so, it seems no one even remembers it, much less when it was taken down.

She posted this photo confirming the bridge's existence, and I immediately noticed what looks to be a Jeep. But, it looks larger than the original Jeeps of the early 40's.

Any idea what kind of vehicle it might be?

It could possibly be a modified pickup truck or a delivery truck. Any other &/or better quality pics or info?

I'm now leaning towards a 30's sedan, but don't know much about cars from that era ... Once I cropped the photo & enlarged it, I could tell it wasn't a jeep .... Just trying to help my friend date the photo of the bridge.

Could you post the full size original picture and the location of the bridge? I've got "family" down in Atlanta that has lived there for about a century.

If you're on Facebook, then the full size photo is from a public "page", and you shouldn't have any trouble seeing the photo due to privacy issues, etc.
