Think I'll go with the existence of mermaids instead.

I loved Franks exit. Diving into the hot tub with a naked general and his secretary and begging to polish her toenails!

Hmmm...it sounds like someone else stumbled across that tv show last night where they are trying to prove the existance of mermaids. 🤔 My son was watching that.

^ Don't laugh, Dave. Saw the first installment last year & then, yes, saw the live performance in March of this year.
Pretty compelling evidence for mermankind too if only one could bypass their Greenpeace anti-oil/natural gas/sonar experimentation agenda.

Wow, we went through an Ice Age at the end of the last century? I must have slept right through it.

I imagine extended weeks on the open seas and lots of rum will make a man see/do some crazy things.

Huh? I thought it was a population bomb that was going to take us all out?

I watched some of the mermaid thingy after the Black Hawks beat the Wings for the second time (bad ref call).

Anyhow, I thought it was interesting until they interviewed a couple of the "scientists". Two in particular appeared to be acting. So I started watching more closely...

Turns out, this thing was a hoax. Or at least a veiled attempt at one, since they do technically label it as a work of fiction.
This is the old "alien autopsy" from a decade ago, or the "war of the worlds" radio broadcast.

Too bad.
Some of the mermaid broads were hot.

it was like Avatar meets Waterworld. I didn't see much, only a few minutes. I did see the video of the fisherman that appeared to catch a mermaid/merman in their net. That looked real. [sarcasm]

btw, the penguin Time cover is photo shopped.

Time routinely ran articles throughout the 1970's regarding the dropping temperatures and the "big freeze". But this wasn't one of them.
In fact, the penguin cover is more recent and is about global warming.

Which makes one wonder: with several actual Time Magazine covers depicting global cooling, why would someone alter the penguin cover?

What do you expect when you get your science from Time Magazine?

Time magazine?

Are they even still in print?

It was just a bunch of fluff for libraries, doctor's offices and barber shops.

Convincing? I think so!
