Soooo.... you need the idea that there's something greater than you and I? That's cool. I understand you have an inability to go on without it. I personally don't think it's a worthwhile bargain. You offer eternal subservience and arbitrary rule-following, just so you can get some external sense of purpose for a few decades... not a bargain I'd make.
The funny part is that you're absolutely 100% wrong.
I mean, you claim that what you're getting is "the idea that there's something greater than you". But the entire premise of your religion is that human beings are some sort of special little flowers, the focal point, so to speak, of an entire omniscient/omnipresent entity (really... that's the equivalent of someone with unlimited funds/power sitting down and watching honey boo boo all day). Sure, in your little religion there's something bigger than you. But you're only 1 step from the top dog. You're talkin' directly to the man. You may not be the biggest, but you've got his ear!.
