Devil's Advocate: Charles Manson escapes from jail and several days later rescues some people whose vehicle rolls over in a crash. Is it relevant to the history of those he and his minion killed and tried to kill? Shall we excuse him?

I don't believe he got out of his car that night with any intent other than to see where TM was going. Somehow he got into a fight and I'd have to agree, that if i started seeing stars and don't take some drastic steps they may be the last thing I see. At that point it's me or him and it won't be me and yes panic would be my motivation.
Ill bet any of you would do the same, regardless of race creed sex, survival kicks in.
Only in hindsight can we presume he over-reacted, we were not there and according to Florida state law he, in the end, took action to save himself.

I watched the entire trial live, except for one day when I had to watch it on replay at night. I am certain in my head and heart that "not guilty" was the proper verdict. Admittedly, I waited until the trial to make my mind up solely based on the evidence submitted at trial- as opposed to the news versions of the evidence.

As to what happened that night, I am very sorry for both of them- they made themselves victims. One died. the other will live with it for the rest of his life in ways we cannot know.

That being said, I have an alternate theory...

To me it sounded like he should not have been charged before the trial but I too felt not guilty was proper from the facts reviled on whatever local news I was watching but was willing to abide by the courts decision
I appreciate and like reading your insight on all things legal that show up on this forum.
I'm sure most all of us too feel sorry for everyone involved.

Every side of every thing/everyone has "skin" in this one. A simple murder trial has been turned into the biggest news event of the year. Sharpton, et al ramped it up and then everyone else jumped in the boat. EVERYONE.

Jack, this isn't political: L v. R; Dem v. Rep; black rights v. white laws; and so on and so forth...
It is social. It has to do with race, which is not political. Religion, which is not political. The media- which some think is political; gun controversy; Good v. bad...

Example: I think he was "not guilty based on the trial. You feel he is not guilty too. Neither of us would think for a minute we are on the same place on the political spectrum, yet we agree on this (and more than you may ever know know), but for different reasons.

Again your wrong, two people knew what happened out there, only one lived to tell his story. He had injuries consistent with HIS version of the story....but politically biased media tried to spin this story from the onset and help make it look like Zimmerman was the aggressor.
