I am sure many of you "make your own" but I am pretty sure the rest of us can't heat up a can of soup.

So what kind of salsa do you use?

I need some suggestions.

Homemade or La Mexicana.

Occasionally La Victoria.

Homemade is best though.

LMAO!

This last batch I made will open your sinus right up. Will always be using Serrano peppers from now on. Just enough heat.

Way too over powering. However, I think they crossed with the Serrano peppers a little bit this year.

I usually go with habaneros, unless I know someone who's growing ghost peppers.

Newman's Own makes a black bean and corn salsa that's pretty tasty and the profits all go to charity... but it's a lot different than traditional salsa...

Have to agree with taps on the serrano peppers... one of the most flavorful peppers around, easy to grow, and the perfect amount of heat...

jalapeno's are worthless...

if I'm looking to go mild, I like to fire roast some anaheim chile's and use those instead of peppers...

I'ts my understanding that salsa is more sauce like and pico is chunky bits, no?

So I am asking what store bought brands of salsa do you guys use?

You all cant make your own, really?

I have been using Newmans for many years so I wanted some other brand names to try.

Thanks

I will have to try the serranos. I always see them in the pepper section, but I've never grabbed any.

I like the flavor jalapenos contibute, but they are seriously lacking in the heat department.

Serrano's are the way too go... way better flavor, nicer source of heat... Of course, I don't eat pickled peppers, so I don't know how they compare to jalapenos when pickled... fresh they are wonderful however...
