My neighbor had a coon rummaging around in his garbage can last week. He'd been having trouble with his garbage being scattered around for awhile. Good guy but apparently he's never figured out that if you keep the lid on your garbage cans, it's a lot more difficult for a relatively small animal to get in and scatter everything all over the alley.

Anyway a local cop came and shot the critter. It was broad daylight so they figured it might be rabid. The neighbor was relieved but wasn't too happy that the cop put three holes in his garbage can.

So that was my excitement for last week. So far at least gunfire is rare in this neighborhood, even in the county housing project across town. 🍺
