You're doing it wrong. I've heard that it's less a matter of "tipping" and more a matter of "unbalancing." Reach under the cow and grab the the rear leg on the far side. Pull toward you ...not far, though or they end up sitting rather than tipping. THEN you push...

That's just what I've heard.

I grew up in WI - My Dad's side of the family were dairy farmers way before I was born. They had a handful of small family owned dairy farms in Elk Mound & Park Falls, WI. My Grandfather owned the farms and the land then and parsed them out to his family as he grew older... The farms were handed down through a few generations before they sold them off and/or the elders died off.

Cow tipping is an urban legend.... we tried. If you really want to give it a try, you better pack a few football players - LB's or Linemen because you need beef to tip over beef.

Cows weigh a ton and and physics will prove that you ain't gonna get very far in trying to tip them over. Center of gravity is key and the cows are not all that passive if are messing with them.

If you want to try pulling the far side leg in to get them off balance, you better have a couple beefy guys pushing AWAY from you... and hard... If they fall towards you then you'll end up winning a Darwin Award after being splat like a grape...

Just saying...

Mark it up to stupid $hit you do when you are young... Tried it and lost but lived to tell about it.

Oh... and don't try to do the "table trip" thing: one guy on all fours like a table and another guy trying to push the cow over him

There are least 2 reasons for this...

1) An average sized guy can't move a cow by pushing it.

2) If you make a "human table" behind a cow's rear feet (hooves) there is reasonably good chance you'll kicked.

A funny quote I learned from an old timer at work - a guy really I respect.

"Hair loss is hereditary, a trait inherited from your kids."

Yep, I know that one too.

But truth be told, I do not want to be a burden on my kids. Hopefully they will have their own kids to torture them enough without my doing.

When the time comes, I hope it is many years down the road and I don't get caught teaching them "Fun things to do to drive your parents crazy" and "Don't get caught doing what I did when I was young."

Until then, I need focus on the here and now... raise my kids without teaching them "Fun things to do to drive your parents crazy" and "Don't get caught doing what I did when I was young.

Do as I say, not as I do.
