The uneducated masses are largely conservative Republicans. And really, who the hell understands what they think.

Please tell me that you are not implying that is was ok to pass this mess before the bill was made available to ALL committee members who had sufficient time to digest it and consider its ramifications.

You're an attorney Robert. Surely you're not gonna go to trial when your clients case is to be decided on a 10,000 page before you have sufficient time to study it.

You are correct. I generally would not- so to speak. Instead, I would rely on others' summaries of the vast majority of it, focusing myself on the crucial parts pertinent to the dispute... if only I were a trial lawyer...

Oh. Well if you had participated in the elections and watched the debates you would have heard about Obamacare before.

Just sayin'

For what it's worth, I've voted in every election held in my voting precincts for the past 30 years. I watched most of the debates, if that's what you want to call them. But, as they say, the devil is in the details and few details were shared before it was passed.

The current situation is a product of Majority Rules. Is there a better system? Not that I've seen.

This piece of legislation was forced through Congress on a paper thin majority vote with a win at all cost attitude. Assuming the Dems would continue to have a controlling majority in both houses as well as their man in the White House this is a done deal. But, therein lays the fatal flaw in this plan.

As soon as this was passed, the Dems lost control of the House. So now the Repubs are exercising their will over the very same group of people who in essence told them to fucq off. So now the those on the left are saying those on the right are shutting down the government. To think that a single person would hold either party solely to blame for the sorry state of affairs is an insult to the intelligence of everyone.

The government has for all intents and purposes been dysfunctional for some time now. What it now resembles is a bad marriage where each partner goes back 20 years in history to dig up some trifling tidbit of minutiae to cast blame away itself and towards the other partner.

The notion that majority rules may be a is a fact of life, but that doesn't mean it's the best solution in all situations. At some point our leaders need to learn to work with each other for the common good of the nation, not to help each other get elected.

No, it was touted as "affordable healthcare". You thinking of the "read my lips, no new taxes" speach.

Why are you considered a "commie", Brewha?
Are you in favor of redistributing the stuff from the "I got mine, you get yours" crowd?
