I would say that right now we already have three-party system in that Tea Partiers only join the R's when the see fit. The only thing that is missing is candidates from the Tea Party running under "Tea Party" rather than R. Then we will have a de facto multip-Party system.

Makes sense. Then if we can get about half of the Democrats to come out of the closet and campaign as true Marxists, the evolution into a multi-party system will be complete.

I see it differently, when Tea Party first came about BOTh parties were poo pooing them until we / they began to gain steam....it was then the Pubs decided they'd better jump on that train and see where it takes them. In my opinion they gave the Pubs some credibility again but lost or had their own identity stolen in the end as people simply saw them as Extreme Republicans.....

How many incumbents will get re-elected now? We need to take an over/under on this one.

Kick the can til after the New Year when everyone will be running for re-election.
Wag the dog.
Nothing has changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if they all invested heavily stocks beforehand, using the situation to drop stock values to get in cheap. Then signing a deal and cashing-out on the stock rally after the deal is signed. A few politicians became even richer over the last 2 weeks. Let's ask Pelosi shall we?

Over/Under is probably north of 85%

Approval rating of Congress might be 3% -- But, I'll bet the approval rating of no individual Congressman by their constituents is less than 50%. That, plus the fact that only about 16% of eligible voters turn out for statewide primaries and you have a recipe for widespread reelections. Without term limits we're stuck with them....no matter how much they suck.

The tea party is the party of comprimise. All they want to do is get their opinion in the ring then comprimise so some of it is implemented. If they ever were in the position to actually run the government (one which by design requires comprimise to run) they would be the best at it because they are nothing if not concensus builders. How do I know this? They told me so. The prez and the demoncrats are authoritarian dictators and the run of the mill republicans are RINOs. Your soft friendly tea party is the solution if you want the government to run well.

ok sarcasm off. they are nothing short of flash in the pan one hit wonders that do serve a purpose. Their purpose is to force the stagnant parties that be to address some issues that need to be addressed. They can only do so by throwing grenades and going kamakazi. They are the very people that accuse the prez of not being american, being muslim, etc. which makes it impossible to take them seriously as a whole, but popular in here. They will never be a viable governing party because it's not in thier dna. They are like chemo. targeted towards certain cancers they just might be useful. targeted towards the wrong cancer or no cancer they will simply kill you.

they are a group with a valid purpose but at some point they will have to be stomped down because with the good intentions comes a certain belligerance as well. the folks that profess to want to save the country could very well be the ones that kill it.

I disagree somewhat. Yes, they have an inflexible agenda but their charter is based on the constitution however. Many people want limited Government and are not dependent to Government bennies YET. They want to be left alone and desire an end to foreign incursions, nation building, & smaller "take home".

I think that the Tea Party or a Libertarian/Constitutional party hybrid will eventually make the Republican party obsolete. Republicans are already Democrat Lite. Unfortunately, I think that the bigger Government folks are growing and unstoppable especially as the demographics change. The Democrats relish that.

they are political chemo.... a short term treatment or "cure". they could never govern. when the other side is the devil there is no comprimise to be had.

blood we've talked about this. you have a foxhole mentality and folks are either with you or against you. I understand your love affair for cruz et al. it fits. comprimise is bad....it involves a lack of integrity.
