How many of you guys would go out and watch this tour? I love their music but I think it would be hard to replace Freddie. Their music will always live on.

I'm with ya. Freddie is not replaceable.

I like Paul Rogers, but his style is so different from Freddie's that it's hard to imagine what it would sound like.

The Queen died, this is just whats left of the band.

I'll reserve comment until I've heard some. They said the same thing when Sammy joined Van Halen, and having heard them both live, Sammy kicks ass.

Hard to compare replacing David Lee Roth, and replacing Freddie Mercury.
While I like both bands, DLR is not a huge vocal talent. Freddie wasn't just a personality, he had the goods to go with it.
An amazing singer.
I saw the Firm live both tours, and I enjoy Paul Rodgers, but he has hardly any range compared to Freddie.
I have always been a big fan of Brian Mays' guitar playing, that might be worth the admission just to hear him again.
I hope they do well, there seems to be so little worth seeing these days.

I agree with my **** friend here. (LMAO!) Diamond Dave was the best fit for VH. Sammy is okay, but Dave he ain't!

I also agree that Freddie Mercury's voice was so distinct, how could you possibly replace him and sound good?

Journey found a kid that looks and sounds like Steve Perry... If they could find a guy to duplicate Freddie's sound, i'd go.

I've seen Van Halen with Dave and with Sammy....I left early on both occasions (a left a little earlier for Van Hagar). Eddie is O.k., but it's just not my thing and there were way too many mullets in the room.

Queen is one of my favorite bands, and even though I like Brian May, I think Freddie Mercury is essential. There are a few bands that can replace their lead singer and get away with it (heck Jimmy Page replaced the entire band when he toured with the Black Crowes and that was awesome) Queen is not one of them

I agree with Lukin and Eric. It's so hard to replace the soul of a band once it's lost. Groups such as Bad Company, Queen, Journey and Styx who's soul resided in their front man. They cannot replace that and pull it off. Paul Rodgers and Queen should not try and be Queen. They are something else.

Freddie Mercury was a brilliant composer, concert level pianist and great vocalist. You cannot put Paul rodgers on that and hope to please an audience who's ear is tuned to Freddie Mercury.

I went to the REO/Styx/Journey concert and found it hard to listen to Steve Augeri in place of Steve Perry. He just didn't have the range. The guy they used to replaced Dennis DeYoung with on Styx was a poor substitute and a crappy keyboardist. (They should just stick with Tommy Shaw.

I just don't see how Queen can pull it off. I will probably go check it out for myself and see.

I read about this a couple of months ago, and had immediate reservations...I hate to admit it, but my first thought was "guess Brian needed a boat payment." I've been a Queen fan since "Bohemian Rhapsody" and I have always kicked myself for not going to see them in Oklahoma City on the "Hot Space" tour because at the time I considered them a disco-dance sell-out...then when Freddie died, my first thought was that I'd never see them play live. Interesting to note that John Deacon will not be on this tour, so it's just Brian and Roger, and whoever they get to play keyboards. That, I'm sorry to say, is not Queen. It's the Freddie tribute concert taken on the road.
