Our parent-teacher conference was earlier tonight.
Now, I have met the kids' teachers in the beginning of the school year and here and then when I pick up the kids from school but tonight confirmed it....
My daughter's 1st grade teacher is.... well... Let's just say that I wouldn't mind if she gave me detention.
My son's 3rd grade teacher is like hanging around with your sister.
I might have to try to encourage my daughter to get held back for a year or two.

My sister in law is a teacher too. Family functions in late summer are just them getting stuff together for their classrooms.
As cold splash in the face, we met their Gym teacher in the hall way between the two conferences. Eeek... she's a bit... ummm... "intimidating" in a (slightly scary) female gym teacher way.
Hey, my wife and my sister are teachers (at the same elementary school no less)

The teachers have my kids in their care, realm of influence and have a huge influence on their development for a good chunk of the day. I take education seriously - especially with my kids. I recognize that and tip my hat to all the good teachers out there.
